Hi all, new to mystery shopping but really enjoying it so far. Some random thoughts and questions follow!
1) Web systems stink! Seems like many of the MSCs use Sassie which I find clunky and confusing at times. I have opted in for emails from schedulers and now get inundated with emails for shops hundreds or thousands of miles away. You know where I live from my profile but I can't choose to only get emails if a shop is within X miles? If there is some trick I'm missing here, someone please tell me!
2) Qualification/certification quizzes are confusing or flat out wrong in some cases. I had a qualification quiz for a smartwatch shop and the guidelines said to ask the sales associate what type of smartwatch they used. OK fair enough. But the quiz question was "You should ask the sales associate what type of smartphone they use - true/false". I kept answering false because the guidelines said to ask about the watch, not a phone. So I failed the quiz and only realized what was going on after contacting support.
3) Lack of response on shop applications. Some MSCs and schedulers are better than others. On the positive I have gotten replies from some schedulers within minutes. On the negative - I have had applications go unanswered to the point the shop deadline passes. I don't get it - you are sending out email about how urgently you need shoppers but then when I apply, it gets ignored.
4) Weird shop requirements that I would think would be a dead giveaway to employees. The recent shops at (removed -not sure if I can name restaurant) for example - order your burger and then just... wait to see if they suggest fries or a drink? Seems like most customers would order everything right away with no prompting needed.
Anyway, glad to be here and hope to learn more from you all!
