How to discreetly take photos

I have a few assignments, that require me to take SEVERAL, i MEAN SEVERAL ( like 20-30) photos of various types and brands of liquor in a liquor store. 2 stores that I went to I didnt realize i was supposed to "mystery shop", and both store owners were very admit that could not do the assignment, let alone take ANY photos of product in their stores. (i thought i was there to merchandise/audit Campari products)
NOW i have the assignments BACK....
I just feel like this is trouble, arguments or confrontation. I dont drink alcohol, so i have NO familiarity with liquor store layout, nor the several brands, in question.
any tips?

I am curious why you accepted the assignments a second time after being told at the store that they will not allow photo-taking? As for how to discreetly take all those pics, I wouldn't even try. In a large, busy store it could probably be done but in a smaller store where the attention might be on me all the time, no way. I have seen posts by other shoppers who are undaunted by this and successfully complete assignments like the one you've described.
i didnt accept, i get a salary, my primary function is merchandising, so i dont get to "accept" assignments, they are just added to my schedule.
i totally agree, if it were walmart... no one pays attention to you, but a mom & pop store... yeah someone is gonna notice you after 10-15 mins looking "suspicious". i say liquor store, they're more very nice wine/liquor stores
Does your employer have any suggestions how they expect you to be able to do this?

I do act like I am texting and take photos. But haven't ever had to take that many.

Try saying my spouse asked me to send them a photo so they can tell me what to buy. I do take pictures of lots of products to show Hubby.

lol...NO lol
i think im just gonna go in with a smaller phone, for pix, then get all the prices i have to input from photos
Turn on video mode and grab screenshots from it later, rather than trying to snap individual pics.
Is the same company that you merch for? Do you have an LOA?

I did a similar shop and let the staff know that I was taking pictures for my boyfriend, who wanted to place a bulk order for his company.

This happens because the msc's are based in Mayberry. Confero wanted pics inside a NYC check cashing place. DUH!!! Reality is any caucasian doing this will raise a rather large flag and understandably so given these places are in high crime areas and generally are very security conscience in general. And guess again if the staff will believe the msc
laughable excuse for pic taking. Asking the staff for their name is also pure buffoonery.

I think I did that shop, or one similar to it, here on Long Island about 10 miles from the NYC border, one time was plenty thanks. Is it me or does Confero seem to specialize in shops that are really awkward to do if you live in a high-pop area?

Just as an aside, I believe Confero is headquartered in Cary, North Carolina, a large suburb of Raleigh. I used to live in NC some years ago; Cary is not quite Mayberry but not quite NYC either. It is populated by lots of ex-New Yorkers though. The joke lifelong North Carolinians like to tell is that CARY stands for "Confinement Area for Relocated Yankees."

Yes even at Walmart the eye is in the sky. I was doing a lot of that Walmart stuff picture taking and when u gave a lot of pics to take it can get dicey. I was approached by security After that I quit doing those jobs. Not worth
I used to have a vacation place in western NC. They called the northern retirees halfbacks because so many of them retired to FL, decided it was too hot, and moved halfway back to where they originally came from.
