Red and Blue Gas Shops NEW photo requirement

Please someone tell me if I am blind. I have a copy of the guidelines, the data collection form and the Lubricant Clarity form, and where does it say that now we need a photo of the Lubricants? I just did 10 shops, over 130 miles, and did not get a picture of them, at any of my shops. Now I do not know what to do. I have looked and looked and cannot find where it states a photo is required. I haven't slept in 2 days, so there is a great chance I just missed it, but if it isn't stated, then it cannot be my fault it was missed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

It is not mentioned. You only find out about it when you click NO on the survey. Then the upload box appears. There are a few questions like that. There is no way to know ahead of time unless you go into a form before shopping and just start entering fake info to see what pop ups result from various answers. Nice surprise, right?

Lubricant, schlubricant. Is this a test of shopper patience?

if it’s not on the guidelines, it’s not your fault and I wouldn’t sweat it. i would just explain it in the comments section. just remember to take it next time obviously, now that you know. i’m actually surprised that that wasn’t a required photo to begin with. i usually take it anyway so i can remember what they had.
Yeah that is what I did. I also noticed that you need a picture if there is no sanitizer at the fuel area, which is also not mentioned.
Another thing that is driving me crazy are the way the calendar is and these start and due dates are. I only had the choice for the 10th or 11th and picked the 11th and now have a 1 day window to complete it.

Thank you so much everyone for answering me. I started to panic and now I know I am not completely crazy, just a little bitwinking smiley Have a great day!

yep, the scheduling is another terrible thing(there’s a lot of terribleness since the maritz switch). those 4-5 day windows we got before were key. the guy who runs the project now seems like a good dude and i’m sure he’d extend, but it would require a lot of unwanted back and forth.
Luckily these are already part of my pictures I normally take. The new test does mention the lubricant count but not taking a photo. The new guidelines for January have info for lubricants and sanitizer. I was taking a pic of the lubricants and where the hand sanitizer was (or wasn’t) so I could remember for the report.
Thanks for the heads up. I could probably have cropped another photo for the sanitizer question, but i would have been left without the lubricant photo. This is like last year when some stations required separate diesel canopy photos, and they forgot to tell anyone. I got lucky then and it just happened the photos I took on the first one included the diesel area.
In April of 2007, I completed an assignment at a Quizno's sandwich shop that paid me $15 + a $5 food reimbursement + $5 for an OPTIONAL pic of the storefront. Last week, I received a notice of a Church's REQUIRING six to eight pics and paying $0 + a food reimbursement of $10. Folks, each pic you are required to submit increases the chance the report will be rejected. I mention this merely so you will understand MSCs will continue to pile on the work until the "last straw breaks the camel's back."

I DO NOT criticize any company for taking the above action, as it is the responsibility of the contractor to take care of their business and put an end to the ever increasing work for the constantly decreasing pay. In addition, I do not have any recollection of ever seeing a fee that was adjusted for inflation. Trendsource, as an example, pays the same $5 + $9 for their grocery shops that was paid 15 years ago.
Hi All.

If you are answering no to that question, then it means there is an infraction. Page 4 of the guidelines lists the photos that will be required, and "Photo of each infraction" is listed.

Regarding date windows, please feel free to contact me if you'd like a window of dates. Shoppers with a solid history of completing their shops, will absolutely be granted a larger window to complete these.

As always, please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Pete, for the lubricants, the form still wants a photo if you answer "Yes". That does not seem to be the intent, per the guidelines. I have yet to answer "yes", however. smiling smiley
I will have to contact them to look at the report in that case. Thank you for letting me know!
Hi Pete, I printed out the guidelines for this shop in December to prepare for the Quiz, and the lubricants picture was not listed. I checked the guidelines again today and the picture requirement has been added now. I think it might be helpful if you email everyone doing these shops to let them know about this, as I did several shops without the lubricant picture and am expecting you guys will probably be asking me to go back. (Yick - they are far away!)

This reminds me (and I think of it often) of the time I asked for a bonus - different MSC . The response? "No. Historically the most that location has paid is $20." Well, to all companies that think that way, I say, "Historically you could easily support a family of four on $20." In, what, the 1880s? But wages and the cost of living have gone up since then. The idea that they will only pay less and never more to get a job done might eventually have a negative impact on their business.

I have shops this month and next that I have always done in the 3rd week. Should I contact you through the shopper portal for each shop, requesting a 3rd week date?

Yes, please. Unfortunately, I only have access to the one project though, so cannot change anything for other projects.

Just a reminder. There are two sets of guidelines. One is 70 pages and I think the other is about 25. One is a OSA update and one is 2021 Guidelines. Make sure you are getting both.
