Depends on the shop (client), and what your guidelines state.
I have been paid in full on occasion; my fee has been reduced to $3 on occasion (with a different client); and I have been paid nothing, too.
Generally, however, as long as I did everything I was supposed to do (call first to confirm hours, etc.; taking photos before leaving -- from across the street, if necessart -- and so on), I've been paid in full.
