Shop requires recorded call via a toll-free number, but it's not working

I was supposed to do a take-out shop today for Confidential Consumer. It required me to place the order by phone by calling a toll-free number and entering a code unique to my shop (and their system connects me to the restaurant). The call rang once before going to busy (and on my cell phone that caused it to hang up). After trying for several minutes, I never got it to answer. I figured they would reject it without the recording, so I gave up and will reschedule the shop and try again tomorrow. At least I called before driving to the restaurant, since it's a 40 trip (each way) for me. I would have been really upset if I had made the trip and called to order once I got near the restaurant and not been able to do the shop.

Anyone else ever run into a situation like that where the number you had to call to do the recording was down?

Sadly, while the shop claims that the scenario will alternate between calling and ordering via the app/website, I've never seen it be anything other than calling. Ordering online is much easier, obviously (at least for me). But at least the phone recording system always worked before today. Update -- I noticed the form said that as of 1/1 all shops are phone ordering.

It happens from time to time. Send an email to the scheduler and let them know and they can look into it and let you know if it's a recording issue or a phone issue with the client.
Yes the recording is out today. I called too and it hangs up after it answers, before you put the code. The scheduler knows it.
Yeah, I got a surprisingly quick response from the scheduler. Really embarrassing for the phone system to be out when you are required to use it before doing the shop.
BTW does anyone know if this system shows your number under Caller ID or the number of the recording system? I'm not sure if chain restaurants have Caller ID on their phones to see where calls are coming in from. Pretty sure that local restaurants do.
I believe it shows your own number. I was recording through vozila and the phone call was disconnected. The restaurant called me back on my cell phone I was using.
That's a sassie issue, as they provide the technical stuff. I wonder if it has something to do with a maintenance they did last night at 9PM for 2h.
I have done one where the number someone entered in the system dialed some other business. I called a couple of times and let the scheduler know. He fixed it that day.
Sadly, that happened to me a second time. I let the scheduler know but I was out of time, the confidential customer was going to close in an hour. I wanted to get the shop done because I was several hours away from home. So the scheduler gave me her blessing to record the phone call on my own and send her the file later.
It usually has a happy ending as long as there is good communication.

That sucks that they called the wrong business. A Closer Look also has an auto-dial system, but they let you choose the number to call. One time they had the wrong number listed for a location in a different state.
I remember I did a phone shop trough Sassie. The guidelines said to us * 67. I used * 67 but my number showed up on the companies phone.. When I gave the business an different number (according to the guidelines) they said something about it.

*67 does not block calls..
I believe you are right.. If it does not block the number than they need to update the guidelines then smiling smiley
