Customer Impact requires MOST but not all of their shops to be done on a smart phone app called GoSpot Check. Depending on where you live, some of Trendsource's grocery shops look to be going to all app.
Yeppers, and I have never gotten the blasted app to work. Once I sat in a parking lot for 45 minutes, crying, because I had downloaded it at home, "played" with it, did a "pretend" shop they assigned me (pretend because I could do it at home; not a real shop at all). I KNEW I had mastered it, drove 100 miles to the shop, and couldn't get the app to even OPEN!!!! I had my digital camera with, offered to take the pictures and submit when I got home. Nope. Must be done on the app.

So, ShopperBob, I feel ya!!!!

I have a Trendsource on-site inspection this week, and I MUST offer the client the opportunity to complete it "digitally". All I can hope is he says, no, thanks, just print it out for me. I have no confidence whatsoever that the app will work. Or should I more correctly say, I have no confidence in my ability to get the app to work? Operator failure!!!!

I do understand the thrust toward digital...immediate, real-time reporting.

I'm just an analog gal in a digital world!!!
I too am a frustrated non cell phone user. I am amazed at the number of governmental agencies that seem to think the whole world evolves around cell phones and that is how they alert people to disasters such as this recent weather disaster and also pandemic related things. They are unaware they leave out many older people and lower income people and those that choose not to have a cell.
But I purchased a Tracphone a few years ago that I still have. For $50-60 per year (per YEAR, yes you read right) I get 1.5 gigs of data, 1500 minutes and 1500 texts and an LG phone. Mine is on the verizon network for service. All that stuff rolls over so now I have 3.5 gigs and similar minutes and texts left which I found invaluable these last weeks in Texas where our internet was out for almost a week.
This is not an advertisement but I am just saying as a back up you might consider this if you do not have a phone. If you ask almost anyone but your own children they will be happy to show you how to do things. My adult children just roll their eyes but their friends are happy to help.
I used to do some grocery shops that were for North Fork Research that became BzzAgent's shops. The guidelines recommended you doing a portion on your smartphone but COULD be done on a desktop. This was back in 2019.

IPSOS depends on the Presto app. It covers several companies that prefer onsite reporting. It is great if you have cell service. I just left an MSC that does oil change shops for I could not get the shop filed at the site because the OIL Shop company poor WIFI
I too have a Tracphone. Once I leave my home I loose the internet connection. I can't understand why as I see people walking down the street on their phones. I don't have any children to help me understand or get me set up so I don't loose the connection. I've been wanting to do those Presto shops yet can't as I loose connection. I have been in well know grocery stores and look to see if my phone has picked up their wi-fi and it doesn't. Very frustrating.

Check that your airplane mode is not on you'll see a little airplane indicator in the upper right hand corner of your phone near the battery.
I just looked Tracphone up and it's $199 a year plus the cost of the phone so not a bargain. I think Ting has $15 a month which so far seems to be the cheapest. Anyone know of other cjeap plans?

Hi there, I buy my tracfone on ebay. When it was getting close to my year end and I needed a new plan most were over $100 but I waited a few weeks and it went back down to $59 including the phone. If you search ebay for tracfone plans or yearly plans just make sure you find the ones that come with 1.5 gigs, 1500 texts 1500 minutes and a whole year of service. My pnone i bought on ebay comes directly from Tracfone in their new packaging and includes the entire package described above.
Clamchatter, you need to go into settings if you have their LG phone when you leave the house, Click on network turn off the wifi by clicking there and turn on the mobile data by clicking there which is right under the choice for for wifi plan. I used to be able to leave both on but recently discovered the search for wifi was not allowing the data plan to work so I switched off wifi and it works fine now. With this phone I use very little of any of it so after three years I have over 3 gigs now using it when my internet was out for a week at home. You can buy extra gigs for about $10 but unless you are watching videos or streaming with your data plan it should last for quite a bit of mystery shopping.

I have a tracfone, I buy the 60 days which I think is $25. I only bought it years ago for emergency purposes. It was just a plain phone not a smart phone. I had to upgrade it last year as it was outdated, Tracfone had a special at the time where I sent them back my old phone and i got a refurbished LG smart phone for free. I only use it for Customer Impact jobs. The only other thing I use it for is my grocery curbside pickup. I have no idea about how to use half the the stuff that is on there.I always renew my minutes a couple of days before they expire so that the minutes, text, data plan all roll over. I have some much time I don't think I will ever use it all.
We've used Ting for several years. They just changed their plans to offer unlimited talk and text, with data paid for by the gigabyte. In our first month we've used $5 worth of data (we try to link into a wi-fi connection whenever possible), and have a total bill of $25 for two lines.

I have a free LG 4 lte this year with my plan which has 16 gigs (or whatever it is storage, memory I can never remember) which is enough for 30 or 40 apps and still have room for more,. It has an upgraded camera from the one they sent last year too which only could store or remember 8 gigs? I get a new phone from them every year and every year it has more of everything than the one they sent me the year before.
Here is a link I just fournd for a year of service plus phone free plus minutes plus gigs plus texts for 59.99...[www.ebay.com]

No. Only some of Ipsos' projects are on Presto. Others are on the old Sassie platform and Shopmetrics. They can all be done on a computer, even Presto, as long as they are submitted within the timeframe required by the shop instructions.
