Wetzel Pretzel Shops

Has anyone done these shops before? This one is new to my area. I am curious if it is difficult or lengthy to complete.

I used to do them a few years back but with a different MSC. The current shops are interesting but with a lesser fee although a greater possible reimbursement. I dislike shops like this one that say you can order more than the basic required items but only if they are suggested. This penalizes the shopper if the employee does not make the suggested upsale. It also could potentially skew the results as some shoppers could say there was an upsale just so that could order more and get the full reimbursement. Of course no one here would do that! I’ll pass on these for now as the non mall stores I visited tend to be small so there could be an issue with Covid. They probably limit the number of customers allowed inside so there could be a line. Taking photos in the past has been a little difficult but at least they now allow you to reveal yourself if challenged.

I just reread the instructions and need to correct what I wrote above. Apparently you are allowed to order additional items but just need to give the employee a “chance” to up sell. If I’m reading that correctly, you can order more items after waiting for the employee to offer. If they don’t offer it’s still ok to then order more and get reimbursed up to the full allowed amount.

These shops are appropriately priced for the time needed (minus commute). Even if the fee is low, the time at the location + report is literally 15 minutes or less total.

I have done them in the past. My problem was that they were in the mall and it was hard to take a picture without people walking in front of the camera. I don't recall having to take a picture of the oven. It was just an overall picture at that time. The lemonade is the best I have ever had.
I picked up two this weekend at locations adjacent to previously scheduled shops. The reimbursement should allow me to try a few different menu items. How are the almond pretzels?
NinS - Don’t know about the Almond Pretzels but I thought the Pretzel Dogs would be good. However turned out the hot dog itself was really inferior. Too bad because I do like their pretzels.
The survey was so short and easy I kept checking to make sure I hadn't missed a few sections. Like with many shops, my visits left me astounded at how little you get for a double digit purchase at one of these places. But there was a constant stream of delighted customers. This must be a nice little franchise opportunity for the local owner!

I ended up doing it, but not sure I would do it again. My location is in the middle of an aisle at the mall. To get the store front picture, I had to stand with my back against the counter of a neighboring jewelry store since they are so close together. I'm sure everyone was staring at me and I felt a little silly. The pretzel was good though.

The instructions clearly said being 100% discrete isn’t required for this as the staff is fully aware what’s going on.

I know, but I still felt silly standing against another business' counter to get the shot.
I’ve done two so far and maybe will pick up a third location next week. All three are in the same outdoor mall. I enjoy the Bits and Dog Bites and freeze what I don’t finish. Agree they are extremely expensive including the drinks. Over $4 for a lemonade and about $6 for the Bits.
Just picked up one for Sunday, it's a 12-mile drive but it's clustered geographically with a few other shops I'm doing so what the hey. Looking forward to it, this will be my first and after 18 months of shopping I think I finally may have conquered "First Shop Jitters" lol. smiling smiley
First shop jitters are a good thing. Keeps you on your toes. I still get them after nearly 20 years shopping.
