Interesting..... but: please edit your post and delete the names of the MSC’s - including the title. It’s a violation of both forum rules and our IC agreements to link clients and MSC’s.

Oh, NO! I checked them out. More work (MUCH more work!), less pay (WAY less pay!).

And reports have to be in within an hour, so count me out. No wifi in rural areas I shop.

They weren't worth doing before, unless bonused. But I'm kinda sorry to see them go.

They are still with the old company, and with a completely different shop with the new company.
I feel sorry for the poor scheduler who has to try and schedule the new ones. Hard to believe anyone would think they would be able to get people to do them for that amount. Maybe they are just testing it out.

Closest Taco John is over 100 miles away, but they are with the company that has picked up the Arby shops
The new one wants a "mystery shop" but requires pictures of all the menu boards. Well that is not a mystery shop here. They just remodeled the drive thru and it has cameras on it.
And a photo of the window... not very subtle.

They are back on the boards here at an even lower pay than before.
Last month, I saw several of them on the job boards for two different mystery shopping companies. At the end of the month, there were still several locations outstanding for both companies. The published rates were between 25 and $30. I inquired with both companies, and neither scheduler was able to go up much more than what was on the website. As far as I could tell, dozens of locations did not get shopped by either company last month. My guess is that they have some sort of agreement where not every location has to get done every month, or maybe the reason why bear with a second company is because they are unhappy that so many locations don't get done. Who knows? Let's just say I cleaned house with Arby's so I was not about to do one of those for much less money.
Probably only in my world it is possible (I think?) to photograph the window from a nearby parking lot. I am willing to try that if ever I accept a local assignment and have difficulty with the window.

OTOH, at another type of place I can photograph price signs which are located near the window. If I think I need an assist, I say that I need this for... FB, proof that I did not stray too far from my diet, whatever...

There are some Taco John's locations that are way way way out in the middle of nowhere. Apparently, the old mystery shopping company didn't seem too terribly concerned about getting all of the locations done, because there would be dozens that would go unshopped. This might be why they are changing companies. Who knows? I just know that if this new system is set up to get every location done, they're going to have to pay out some big bonuses. Just like they did with Arby's. But, who knows what kind of contract this is.
And they are on the board with a flat fee only, that doesn't cover the cost of the meal.

Sorry; I shop to make a living, not to donate my time, gas, and energy!
The new company's form is actually more involved. It definitely has narratives contrary to what is advertised, and it quite a bit to complete (I would say 15 minutes if you are being efficient about it which is not short). The usual ones that used to be shopped in my area are not being shopped. All the best to those who would do it. It's a hobby for me, but that is a bit too bureaucratic for straight pay.
Got an offer for one with a reasonably bonused fee (but no reimbursement) -- but the shop was pre-security at Kennedy Airport. LOL. I did one shop at JFK once (different MSC, different client) and the sample was ample. Not pleasant.

I have to submit the report within one hour? It's Kennedy Airport FFS. In that yawning chasm of an airport it can take most of that time just to get back to your car.

And oh yeah, aside from no reimbursement, they don't let you park for free at JFK, even if you're there for just 30 minutes.

No thankee.
