Where oh where did my favorite hardware shop go?

Um...any clues? I know they aren't on IPSOS or Intelli-shop.

They kept me in light bulbs and batteries and other miscellaneous items.

The ones with the friendly folks, great customer service, adequately staffed, and NOT a big box store.

If you are speaking about ACE I was told by the vendor who had them they would not be returning. Any other brand I do not know.
Had an issue with the editor when I did an ACE shop a couple years back. The location closed but the phone number was kept by the company that took over the space.

The editor insisted that I get a document from the ACE store proving the location had closed!

BzzAgent (formerly Northfork?) used to shop a hardware type store. It had limited offerings of tile, doors, flooring and cabinets with a few smaller items such as tools and connectors. I think it was a limited regional company in the Northeast.

One hardware store that advertises friendly staff and used to be with a much-discussed MSC is now with a smaller company (not BzzAgent). The shops exist, cease.

I got an email from an MSC with the same name. I got excited for no reason.

The last few times I've been in the hardware store with the 'helpful hardware folks' they were anything but. Definitely needed to be shopped!

I just got the email for these. It is a company I haven't worked for in years - I thought they were out of business.

I can't really get excited about a flat rate $15 either.
When I received the first e-mail, several locations that could be routed were listed. When I received the next e-mail, those locations were wait-listed. I surmise that some clever shopper who knows that area well has routed these hardware shops along with gas, convenience, banks, ff, other food, and/or other routes (or one-off gigs) that are conveniently located along the way.

One question: how does one get paid for a route with this company? I tried that once. I forget what happened or did not happen. Time might have changed things...

Ok guys. I don't know what chain of stores you're looking for and the original question was not specific so I can say that Secret Shopper has some hardware stores. I don't know if it's nationwide.
When log into BzzAgent, it says mystery shopping is suspended due to the pandemic. Is that an outdated message? I also don't see any shops listed and I put the radius out as far as allowed just to see if there are shops.....
That message has been on the board since sometime last year. I have not heard from BzzAgent in months. Presumably, if you can access and search the job board, the company is in operation. The absence of jobs probably means that this MSC and/or its clients have decided to postpone mystery shopping programs until further notice.

There is another hardware store chain (True Value) that was shopped regularly by a different MSC. I did my last one in April 2020 (I had pre-COVID-committed to it). There might have been later ones, but I would have been out of rotation in May and June, and I haven't seen any recently (I would have taken it).

You can still log in to Superior Customer Solutions and search for shops, of which there are none. "Presumably" they're still in business? When the owner flat-out refused to pay for shops done even before Covid was a thing? Good luck.
?????? I am referring to BzzAgent, the one that used to known as North Fork. Did more than one company become BzzAgent???? North Fork and BzzAgent always paid me as promised Do tell....

Accessing a company's job board does not mean they are still in business. Not even presumably. It means that IF they are out of business they simply didn't bother to shut down the site or are just letting the contract expire.
