Kim opines, as an extension of her thread title--if there were AirBnB shops?

Bob comments--Once again, the fickle finger of abbreviations has wagged. I have not the slightest idea of what AirBnB means. Last year, I took a position diametrically opposed to that of another shopper. He/she replied to my post the following: Shopperbob, YMMV. Try as I could, the only meaning, in the context of our different positions, I could figure out was You Make Me Vomit. Perhaps. for the sake of clarity, an asterisk would help, especially for we septuagenarians.

Google it.

I am an AARP-eligible person myself, and I’m getting REALLY tired of this feigned helplessness among the folks who are slightly older than me. (This goes for using smartphones and apps and GPS, too.)

Using acronyms is as old as WWII, just pull up the daggone Google-thingy and figure it out. You sound needy and attention-seeking when you constantly demand that the world revolve around your wants and needs, Bob.
Kate suggests--just pull up the daggone Google-thingy and figure it out.

Bob's comment--Thank you for an excellent suggestion. I have no idea why that did not dawn on me. As to the acronym, I checked to see if the definition had changed, a word composed of the initial letter or letters of other words and pronounced as a separate word, and it has not changed. Therefore, according to what I learned early in life or what I read on Google, neither YMMV nor AirBnB would qualify.as acronyms.
I would love if someone shopped my AirBnB. Heck if someone on the forum wants to rent it out and tell me how it was, I would be more than happy to share the link!

ROTFL smiling smiley Shopperbob that was just for you! You do not need to look that one up....I will just tell you it means "Rolling on the floor laughing".

If you screw up with Airbnb, in great enough magnitude and in a certain way, someone WILL check in as a guest and they will actually be a QC person. Cannot say more about that b/c of non-disclosure and such - but those people exist. And you don’t want them shopping you, truly you do not.

ETA: And no, I’m not open to helping anyone become Airbnb QC. Please - no DMs. Not going to happen.

99% aren’t qualified either.
I feel your pain.
And for full effect, ROTFLMAO.

In the early days of Teh Interwebs, I got kicked off a forum for using the acronym “ROTFLMAO,” because the moderator took great offense at the “A” part of the phrase.

Ahhh, 1998. Such a simpler time and place!

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I was surprised to see in a ww2 movie FUBAR being used. I wonder if it's even older than that. And, ShopperBob, I know you remember the great gas crisis in the 70s when they started including estimated gas mileage on TV car commercials, with the final warning that, "Your mileage may vary." Only they said the whole words, not just letters. Good times. Good times.

When the saying was started, F probably meant "fouled."
