Traveling audits paying $2K a month

Anyone know more about these? I must show almost commitment in order to get more info and there is a webinar involved.

No, but the "normal" fee for such work is $250 a day fee plus ALL expenses, so I hope that you are working 8 days a month for $2,000.
This is from the email regarding the commitment.

Ten slots open only in CA, NY or TX who can commit to 4 + days per week, 4-5 hours per day.

Commitment:
Everyday Monday – Saturday between 9 am-7 pm (our current team reports that it takes them 4-5+ hours a day to do their assignment)

Ceasesmith - It is a common one, but I'm afraid of any ramifications if I name it.
That works out to be minimum wage in CA. Everyday Monday to Saturday. 5 hours a day is $15/hour.

Unless you’re an employee, this is foolish.
Thanks. I'm not close to any of those areas, so that's enough info for me.

My friend works a route, lasts about 10 days. Company pays her hotel every night, gives an allowance for "food and travel incidentals", and she makes $4,000 or so. She might complete 150-200 assignments in that 10 days, but she's quite happy with the pay. No long nights of inputting reports, as they are done on-site. I do routes for the same company, but can't bear to be on the road 10 days, so I just take 3 day routes of 40-50 assignments.

I have to agree with SoCal on this one. It wouldn't be worth it to me, anyway. I wouldn't go so far as to say someone would be foolish to accept it, though. $2,000 ain't chicken feed, and may be a living for some people.

It depends on if they are paying for your gas and lodging. If they aren't, it's definitely foolish. You have to pay rent or mortgage regardless, so you can't add a hotel on top of that (unreimbursed). If they aren't paying mileage, I don't see how this is possible.

The route you mentioned is $400 a day plus expenses. That's a very good rate. This proposed route is $100 a day and not sure about expenses.
The info states up to $120 per day for those who "work it hard" and $88 per day for those who don't. All expenses including mileage are paid, and it includes some overnight travel with a per diem. This sounds like it would work for some people. I'm almost tempted, but I suspect there is a lot of travel time not accounted for in those 4-6 hour days.

And yes, I figure about $14-$15 an hour too when you don't include travel time (and with no benefits), but to most of us outside California that is still more than we can get at minimum wage.
