Firehouse Subs Shop

Just saw a posting for Firehouse Subs and I was excited since I've never seen it before. Then I started reading the description... They want a video narrative of your thoughts and feelings, and the pay is only $3 (plus reimbursement)?? No thanks. I don't think it would be worth my time to create a video for $3. Maybe that's why it's still on the board...

10 foot pole. I did one that did't require the video a while ago. It was quite easy. I won't do the video one.
I did it on Friday, and it was well worth it, easy. This was my second feelings shop. The first was 6 months ago and a drug store.

The report is short. The video is shorter.

I like that the nearest location is conveniently located about an hour from home and on the way to other shops and/or personal errands. I would not mind a paid-for meal on a combo personal/shop day. I can't deduct mileage, but I can eat for "free", eh? OTOH, I do not want a video selfie of me.

Thanks for the info. I may try it.
I just took a shop. You do the video for one shop only, it is for an entry for a $100 giftcard.
Their subs are very good. If you sign up for their rewards e-mails, you used to get a free sub for your birthday.

I did a shop there a while ago and signed up. I got my free birthday sub.
I saw the email. A specific sub must be ordered, one not appealing to me or my husband. So, there’s no value for me.
Usually they are reimbursement only. the $3 I think is for the video. They want some feedback about the meatball sub. Since I don't like that type of sub I'll also pass, but usually I'll do them just for the free sub if it's the one near my house.
I tasted the sub for the purpose of the video. I was pleasantly surprised! It tasted really good despite the odd combination!

Keep in mind, they (client or MSC) own the video. If you give it a glowing recommendation, it may get posted.

@HonnyBrown @pegleg2000 Would you mind describing a little more about what has to go into the video, and if it is easy to take? What do they want you to talk about, and how long does it have to be? Do you show the sub, or is it just a video of you talking? From the description on the job board, it says you'd click a link to where you provide the video...can this be "shot" using your phone? I'm a little camera-shy, so I'm hesitant to take the shop because of the video requirement. Any insight would be much appreciated!

I'm not doing it until Friday so I'll let you know then.
I did a 3 minute video describing my entire experience: placing the order - tasting the sub. I had major issues placing the order.

When you do the report, you are given a link for the video. When I did the feelings shop for the drug store, the video didn't take, so there were several takes. This one was flawless.

a.) Is it for a major MSC?
b.) Is there a video app inside the report itself? I.e., no using your own software to create and upload, etc....? (which could be a hassle)
c.) Is it JUST a video report? Literally no other typed stuff (not even, say, fill in the blank answers)?
d.) How long does the video have to be?

These actually sound potentially much easier than typed reports.
Dang, Firehouse quit Long Island about 3 years ago, I did like them. In case I ever drift into New Jersey where they're still going strong, I echo shoptastic's question, is this a major MSC? I am signed up with most of the biggies and haven't seen Firehouse.
KoKoB, this MSC is known for hero citations.

Thank you Honny, I'm on it.

Funny, I did an oil change shop for them just yesterday.

My shop got moved to today. The report qnd video were very easy to do. Once you do the video on your first shop you do not do it anymore. The sub is delicious.
The first "feelings" shop I did was for a drug store. There were a bunch of shops but only for two locations. I was able to do both.

For this, it looks like all locations are available, so one and done.

I did a Firehouse shop yesterday. I did not like doing the video at all, but I'm not really comfortable in front of a camera/recorder. My video ended up being a little shorter than 2 minutes, but it still took forever to load onto the site. The report itself was very easy, not much to write. And I agree the sub was good, but a little heavy/filling if people want something "lighter".

I was a bit worried since my video wasn't quite 2 minutes long, but my report was accepted with a 10/10 score about an hour after I submitted it.

I did see we are limited to one of these shops this round. All the other shops disappeared after I signed up for the one I did. But it seems like there are 2 different ordering scenarios, either through the App or through the Website. All the App shops disappeared for me (because my shop was order through App), but the website shops still appear available. Unfortunately, all the website shop locations are a bit far from me, so not really convenient to do.
It seems that the MSC is pushing the video thing now. I did a Church’s Chicken shop with a video required as well.
I have been ignoring these shops as I never heard of the place but today while driving in my area I actually passed one two miles from my house. Do they require the same sub for each shop or does it rotate monthly? There are probably very few I would want to eat so i would not want to get stuck with a job with no or little pay and a sub I did want to eat.

I have done 2 shops (different months). The first shop I could get anything, the second one I had to get the limited promo.
The shop and video are super simple. My video was 45 seconds and it was accepted and I received a 10. The sub is a pepperoni pizza meatball sub, quite delicious and I have signed up for another one.
Am I correct this shop requires both the hardware and software to create a video? I own a PV-500, but would need to shoot in front of a mirror.

You use a link on the report, with cell phone. I am doing my third one next week. They are easy. My video was less then 2 minutes and got accepted. You do video 1 time only.
shopperbob, you may need a cell phone to do the video. I'm not sure if the link for the video would work from a computer.
