PV500 DVR

I have the lock button on my PV500 camera bundle. I always go in and check the settings on the DVR and then I push the lock button. I thought it was so that if you are bumped that the settings would not change. My last shop dropped the volume. Is that not what lock does? I need help and any tips on the DVR buttons.

lock button is for battery access.
go into your settings and see what is set for volume, etc. choose your setting and exit. it's saved automatically.
hope this helps.
PS: make sure you test your camera B4 performing the shop, inc. sound.
The lock button is basically to ensure that your battery is fully seated and stays connected to the DVR.
Thank you for your help. I am trying to get a manual to help with more of my questions. I can not find one on the internet. Any suggestions?
I googled and found these manuals in less than a second.

ispy46, I too have always wondered what the Lock button does. Contrary to what other people have posted, I do not believe it has anything to do with the battery especially since it is located right next to the Rec button. The manuals describe it as the "Lock Screen" button. If anyone specifically knows what the Lock button does, please respond. Why would someone one need to "lock screen?"
The button they are talking about is not for the battery. You are correct that it is the button on the side of the DVR. What it is used for is that once you set everything to how you want it - Video, Audio, Date Stamp, loop recording, etc. You then push that button and it will ensure that if the screen is touched say while it is in you pants pocket, that the screen will not accidentally change the settings. It also should show a little picture of a lock on the screen.

Ispy is 100% correct here! This is the correct function of the lock button.
I bought my PV 500 new in 2012. Screen lock button that the OP is referring to must be a feature on only the newer models. The only button on my PV 500 is a power button, and it also has a slide button on the back to lock the battery into position so that it does not disengage.
I could really use a model with such a button..... I lost a $150 shop the other day that such a button would have prevented.

Assume the DVR is turned on. Do you push the Lock feature button before or after the Rec button is switched on? Does the Lock feature stop when the DVR is turned off?
