Ford Oil Change Shops

"Any FORD, any year, any mileage". I haven't been able to qualify for the oil change shops because my car is too old (1995). So I'm excited to see that "any year, any mileage".

So, I have a (Ford) Mercury Marquis.

According to the scheduler, that's NOT a Ford.

According to the Owner's Manual, it IS a Ford.

Bummer; such a nice bonus!

How is a Mercury not a Ford? Who made Mercury cars?

"I told myself to quit you; but I don't listen to drunks." -Chris Stapleton
I imagine that the issue is that a Ford dealership might not have the oil filter, required lubicants, etc. for a Mercury. Of course, many (but not all) Mercury vehicles were close cousins to a Ford, but not all. For instance, the Mercury Villager had no corresponding Ford cousin (it was a kissing cousin to the Nissan Quest). There might be other vehicles that also did not have Ford cousins. I think that is what is behind the prohibition. So, who services Mercury now? Lincoln. Remember, they were Lincoln-Mercury dealerships.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
Mercury has always been part of the Ford family since it was first introduced by Ford for 1939 to fill the gap between the cheap Ford and the luxury Lincolns. Scheduler is wrong on this one and should be educated.
