I think this is a way to refer to a brand that uses a puppy dog as its logo. Same as US shoppers refer to some gas station brands as "tiger" or "seashore", etc.

Yeah I thought that might be the case, but went through with it because I couldn't resist making a dog fart joke. That's how I roll.
