Gas station meter reads

Is it me ...lol but why are gas pump meters so small and hard to read ?
I tried one shops on Presto and failed because I couldnt get a very good pic on a phone of a tiny meter window in the sun,
Ive looked at some pumps when filling up my car and could see no meter displays.

Does anyone have any suggestions for these as they are now paying $25

I didn't know those were back. When I did them, I had the same issue several times. I used a wipe to remove the dust. If sun glare was an issue, I used an umbrella to provide shade.

I did them at night and used flash, daytime you didn't get that clear of a picture. If I did it in the daytime I would have to take pics from different angles. I would stand on the island and hover over, holding my phone towards the meter (kind of looking down) to get good pics.
