I'm doing a huge route of gas stations and convenience stores for multiple Sassie companies. I find the easiest way to be accurate and stay on a good pace is to do the report as I go if it's revealed, or do it immediately afterwards on my phone in my car. This helps me keep everything straight, be accurate while it's fresh on my mind, finish it, and then be able to fully move on to the next one. So, of course, I finish a location a few minutes ago, and Sassie is down. So now I'm having to stop and take notes and try to figure out a system to get the rest of these locations done tonight without having access to reporting software.
In addition, one of the projects that I'm working on has different specifications for each location. This includes one or two sticky notes for each location that deviate from the normal guidelines. So, whenever I get to the location, I open up the shop and go back over the sticky notes to make sure I am good to go. Of course, now I don't have access to them on the road while I'm working. What kind of fresh hell is this. As if it wasn't hard enough to be a mystery shopper these days. Let's just go ahead and shut down the system at 8:00 p.m. I can't believe it. I'm on a very tight schedule and I have three more locations I need to do tonight. I guess I'm just going to have to wing it and explain what happened if I miss something.
Of course the first thing I did was come to this form to see if anybody else was having trouble. And now I see that the system is going to be down for 2 hours. At 8:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m!!. local time. 13 days before the end of the quarter. Why would sassie shut down their system so early in the day? Why not wait until midnight? Why not do it at the beginning of a quarter when they know that the shoppers aren't frantically trying to get locations done. Mystery shopping companies wait until the very last minute to pay a living wage, so this is the time of the quarter where I work from sunup to sundown so that I can pay my bills. This really pisses me off. It shows that Sassie is more concerned about getting their maintenance done early enough so they can go out and have a drink on a Saturday night rather than waiting until midnight so that their valuable shoppers can get their work done. Actually we're not valuable shoppers. I'm sure that sassie doesn't think any more highly of us than the mystery shopping companies do. Which means that we are about 50th on the list below their pet hamster.
Edit:. So it appears the outage was about 55 minutes. So, everything that I said still stands, but I'm only half as mad now.
