Just read an interesting article in Reader's Digest in regards to McDonald's mystery shopping

Last night I read in article that the topic was how to get fresh food from McDonald's. Apparently if you ask for a receipt, it's a tip off to employees that you might be a secret shopper as most customers never ask for one. The article even lists what company they are currently using. Now while it looks like this is currently a UK only program for now, it gives you an idea who they might use should they come to the states.

Not really because I did multiple McD overseas for the company in the article, but the US contract was held by the company that had them here. Same thing with Shell and Exxon here and outside the US, different MS companies, different form, different things to do.

As for the receipt, it has a lot to do that in the US people travel more and they get receipts either to make sure their cc statement is correct, reimbursement from employer, tax returns. Before covid, most Europeans, and definitely in other countries, did not use cc for small purchases, and in many countries you can not use meals and their receipts for tax deductions.
I've been going to McDonald's a lot lately (not as a mystery shopper) just for their frozen Cokes, which I love. Almost every location I've been to, they hand me a receipt without me having to ask. People need receipts all the time to submit for work reimbursements. In other words, I don't think asking for a receipt is always/truly a tip-off. And most of the customer service part of the visit is over by that time anyway, so it doesn't matter that much if they "suspect" you're a shopper, especially since they can't confirm it.
The receipts used to have a survey for a free sandwich with a purchase. I can't believe more people didn't ask for the receipt in order to get the free burger!

That company implied in the article is the same company that they used for several years before they switched to the company they were using when they terminated their mystery program.
when I came to the field of MS (in 2009) I saw just one company who was working with such chain. I never ever did such mystery shops at that place because I am not fan of their food. I did some MS with Burger Kings but that was some Cinnabon cookies or menu boards.

I dunno if I was reading the same article, but... the Queen owns a Micky D's near Buckingham Palace! The writer speculated that she might be more of a drive-thru customer than a dine-in, and showed her fancymobile... and if ever I get to Londontown, I will pay a visit to the Queen's dining establishment.

They still do. I've got a code for a BOGO Quarter Pounder right now.

So McDonalds is no longer being shopped in the US? I used to do a lot of the shops but then I thought I was black balled from them since they no longer appeared on my account. But, When you call the company it still says they do shops for McDonalds, etc
I have done at least four different shops for mickey Ds for other companies. So they are shopped by various companies, and I will not name them or describe them. They are still shopped just not like they used to be. The company that had been doing the major amount of shops also lost the roast beef shops.
