Excited about shop

I started doing legal phone shops a couple of weeks ago. At first, I had some hiccups and my scheduler was patient with me. He told me what I had to fix or do to get my shop complete. After the first two shops, I have found that I have gotten more comfortable the more shops I do. I was researching my shop for tomorrow when I found out that the scenarios involve filing for Social Security. I have been trying to receive Social Security disability for over two years now and I am just shopping to get some income to pay off my medical bills. I am excited because I feel I can really get into my scenario and I really enjoyed doing my research for the shop. Does anyone else get excited for shops?

That's great that you are excited. I have been doing it for over 30 years and still get excited when I get a shop I really want. Good luck with your shop.
Bookgirl, I'm happy you pointed this out.

Yay! I tried forever with SSA;

Hey! I have ASD too with other things. I got an SSA lawyer the first time I was denied. I am on the umpteenth appeal. All I can do at this point is keep going to therapy and my doctor's appointments, keep taking my medicine, and work on feeling better. Strangely after I finish a shop, I feel proud of myself.

Yes! I feel like the first time I do a shop, I keep bugging the schedulers with questions but I keep trying.
Yes doing shops that you can relate to as a real life situation are so much easier to do.

Soon you will find that after doing the same type of shop multiple times it becomes just as easy. You'll learn all the buzz words, the things people are asking about in real life, the odd things that people might ask for and so on.

In other words you'll feel comfortable taking the persona of a person who would actually be doing what you are doing as a shop.
Good luck, hang in there! I know it is such a long, difficult journey. Glad you found mystery shopping! smiling smiley
I knew about mystery shopping for several years but I was too afraid to try it out. Then I took a phone shop and I got a good evaluation! I just figured I'd keep trying after that! My phone shop at the law firm this morning went well, I really enjoyed getting a refresher about SSDI eligibility lol.

IMO, Its all about the fees. I could no more get excited about doing a shop than having to shop -- for anything.
@OP: i am still excited about a few oddball one-off shops that paid well and were fun. It is good to have a little wonder and joy at work. smiling smiley
