Shopperbob, your explanation was thoughtful and reasonable, unlike the comments from others here who clearly live on a diet of culture war media which makes them anxious and defensive whenever it is pointed out that broadly accepted language changes over time.

I have older relatives who used to use the terms "Negro" and "Colored." Given their longtime involvement in civil rights causes I doubt they had any racist intent in using those terms which were once in common usage, but they made the right choice in retiring them from their vocabulary.

Many in this country, including myself, have ancestors who came to the US from other countries. Their unique cultures blended and are now mostly gone. Some fragments or reminders of culture as it was when it arrived here and expressed through their lives then might live on in preserved literature, passed-down family stories or recipes. textiles, or family records, but that world is essentially gone now. If people want to live in the United States, they should be aware that this country includes parts of-- but not the entirety of-- other places, times,and cultures. The United States changes people. but does not let everyone live here as if they were still living in other countries. If anyone wants so much immersion in any other culture, let them move to the site of that culture. There is nothing wrong with words and phrases such as Oriental, Occidental, Northern Hemisphere, or Southern Hemisphere. Geography should still be a useful study of places and how place affects people.

But back to Panda.

I like Panda Express. I have been eating there on my dime and on the fly. I really should try to pick up some shops.

At the end of November the Panda Express shops went up to $17 and $14, and they dropped the rotation completely. Starting the first week of December they dropped the pay back down to minimum, but it's slowly creeping back up. I think I saw $8 today. I still can't shop the ones I did in October and November, even the ones that ended as $2 closed shops. I've done a couple successful drive thru shops, and one dine in. But unless I'm already shopping in the area, I'm not going out of my way to do them, even bonused.

Of course, I live on a farm, 30 miles from almost everything. So I make routes before I leave, I almost never leave the house for a single shop under $80. And I doubt the Panda Express shops will ever go that high.. lol

Question...there is a dine in near me. The location is open but there is no dine in allowed. So I can wait online outside and then a few at a time are allowed inside to go through the line. Those of you who have done the dine in shop what happens when you can do the ordering but not the dine in part.

I believe they consider that a closed location. I would reach out to the schedule there before I went out there.

Lol. I took a Panda shop knowing the dining room has been closed since the pandemic (three years!?) Each time I do this they pay me differently for a closed shop. $2 once $5 once $6 once and $4.50 lol ???? what?! This last one was “partial pay” no explanation. Oh well. I knew what I was getting into. It’s probably not “less safe” to dine in Panda in one small town instead of the one that is open in a similar sized town near by. Maybe I’ll stick to the drive thru
