Circle K has been done by different MSCs in different parts of the country, and the shop requirements also varied widely. Hopefully, the MSC that handles the mid-Atlantic region will still have them in December.

I've seen Circle K shops moving from the MSC I've done them for the last couple of years to a new "platform" MSC in the past couple of months. It has appeared it's only for their hard to schedule locations that they refused to bonus enough to get to.

It seems they were trying to find a bigger pool of shoppers on the new "platform" that does multiple MSCs.

This is in the Northeast, Upstate NY to be exact.
I've done a few of them this week while travelling 1,200mi along a North/South Interstate. Gas station/convenience store audits are new for me. I thought these would be quick- n- easy after doing a few. Nope. **The pay is not commensurate with the level of work detail expected.** I've completed four and now realise it's unlikely that I'll be able to complete any future ones in 30 minutes or less. All had cleanliness issues, stock issues, 2/4 with bathrooms so filthy that I wouldn't use, 2/4 receipt not printing at pump, etc...

Pay is now $9 plus $3 pump fuel and $3 convenience store purchase. Not worth it. The pay/reimbursement is literally peanuts. I feel stupid for having done them. But lesson learned. I need to but a better value on my time. No more unintelligent shops for me.

Why did it take 30 minutes - aren't there only about 5 pictures? Or do you have to take additional pictures of any issues you find?
The ones in my area are $14 plus a $2.50 convenience store purchase. Never a gasoline purchase. Always one photograph. Possibly a photo of the restroom if there is one and it is dirty. Check stock levels and a few other things. I generally figure on 15 minutes.

Edited to add: $14 + $2.50 reimbursement is the base rate for these and has been for years.

There are both mystery shops and a revealed audit for Circle K with one of the MSCs. I only did one audit a couple of years back and they don't pay enough to do them again.

I'll do the mystery shops when they are bonused as myst4au said, takes about 15 minutes on site.
Busy store, blocked views for req photo areas; large crowd gathered around req pic areas...soda fountain beverage area, cooler area, single one and only bathroom for both male and female occupied. Properly assesing empty shelving areas, lack of hot food, cold food ready to eat items.

These were new to me shops that I picked up at the spur of the moment while travelling. I probably could have reduced some on site time if I had preplanned them. And I might've been too diligent with obtaining perfect photos and counts for areas that didn't require photos. Preplanning a route of revealed audits with higher payment (bonused) would be a better value for MY time.

Thanks, maybe I'll do some on a Sunday morning when it's empty.
The pay for these is $4. Filling out the the report and taking all the photos isn't worth the time.
In Southern California they are $14 plus $2.50 reimbursement as others have posted above. I’ve suggested this before - it would be so much more relevant and meaningful if we provide our general location in posts not just “in my area”. I used to do this a lot but stopped after Covid. Not difficult at all after you have done a couple. Probably there are different MSC’s in different regions doing these.
I saw them as well. The pay stay the same for many years. But driving to the closest one for me about an hour. I did them in the past when they were on my way to other shops.

At 02:47 on 11/24, I received an E-notice of three locations for Circle K; the pay was $4 with a $3 reimbursement. Out of curiosity, I accessed iSecretShop to see if it were the same MSC from long ago and was surprised to see that two of the sites had been taken by 07:24 on the same day. Next I checked my log and learned the MSC, operating under a different name, had paid me $12 + $4 in 2009 for the same shop.
Bob,

My recent experience is if you can text or e-mail the scheduler for Circle K, you can easily get $12-14 today for the shops, They realize they linger at the lower number. Or perhaps it's been that I have done some out of the way locations for me and the bonuses I get are my reward?

Might not be the case now that they seem to be moving to a new MSC.
