This cashier made my day!

Completing a Taco John's shop, I asked the cashier for a senior discount.

She said I wasn't old enough.

I just turned 75!!!

I am not sure if you can use discounts for mystery shops. Some MSC allow such but not everyone.

I was in similar situation while was on banker mystery shop some time ago. Banker said I am not sure if you eligible for senior account. I said, "I am but I am appreciate your thinking!"

Shopping Eastern Pennsylvania since 2009
What happens if the cashier gives you the senior discount and you don't ask for it? Will the MSC still pay you?

Most places give 10 discount for seniors.. So if you buy an $ 11.00 combo meal at Five Guys.. That will be $ 1.10

I am not sure if Five Guys gives discounts.
InTouch Insite allows to use coupons for some shops

Five Guys does not offer a Senior discount. Also, the MSC specifically states that coupons can not be used at Five Guys.

A couple of years ago at a Ross shop the cashier gave me the senior discount without asking if I wanted it. When I went back for the return it caused a lot of trouble.

I know you could not use coupons at Five Guys.. When is a senior discount a coupon?? My question is what happens if a place gives you a senior discount ? Will the MSC company still pay you??

I was just asking a valid question. May be I should have worded it differently..

I have been doing these shops for four or five months. The receipt clearly shows the discount, and the MSC has never questioned my reports.

I'm just acting like a regular customer!!!

Along the lines of discounts you do not need to be 75 for this one and it is legal. If you do the BJ;s shops they allow all sorts of things, I just purchased my $100 gift card at BJ the restaurant. With it came two nice looking beer glasses, a $25 bonus voucher and 20% off card good until sometime in February. The 20% off will be useful on shops and I will use up the gift card in just 3 shops. I know they are not yet available everywhere but here we have them back.
Cease good for you and a warm feeling when your age is challenged at the senior level. Must be the mystery shopping keeping you young and on your toes.
Ceasesmith all of this discussion and all they can congratulate you for is potentially getting in trouble for using the discount. Mysteryshoppingforum life right here.

I have been given senior discounts on shops that specifically said no discounts and no coupons. When I was questioned about it by the editors I explained that I didn't use any coupons and I did NOT request a discount for any reason. The cashier did not ask me, or even suggest that they were giving me a discount. And I have been paid for those shops.
