Is Gyu Kaku still shopped ?

I have tried emailing the 3 companies that I know used to do them, but nobody has got back to me yet. In fact I think at least two of the scheduling companies may have gone out of business.

Yes, it has been shopped for many months now and by the same company that got the account just before covid hit. Proprietary reporting system, known for minimal restaurant fee.

I know this is about the company not the fee, but there is a $60 reimbursement which sounds OK when you look at the menu online, guidelines say only have to order 2 beverages and a grilled item, and the grilled items start at around $8. Great, I thought, we can get 4 grill items, drinks, tax, tip and come out under the reimbursement. Well, for 8 dollars you get like 3 ounces of meat. We are not huge eaters and always get at least 8 grilled items. Everything is tiny, like a small can of cat food. Yes, I do like going there for a fun evening but would never do it on my own dime. I look at it like a nice discount
I have done quite a few of these and will do another one very soon.

First thing's first: get the app. Second, take advantage of gift card deals. Their Black Friday Deal was a 20% bonus card for every gift card purchase.

Gyu-kaku raised prices recently. Their Happy Hour Course used to cost $60 (before tax and tips) and there was more than enough food for two people. Now, the same course costs $75 and has slightly less food.

$60 would still work if you don't order only grill items.

Did the guidelines change? They used to require only one drink, not two.
I have yet to snag one of these shops post pandemic as they seem to just evaporate immediately when posted. But I have had a long career of doing this shop with several different msc. Since I have not snagged one yet I do not know the particulars of the shop but I always did this shop in the past during the restaurant's very generous happy hours which in my city pretty much are all day with the exception for a few prime dinner time hours. I never had an issue with the reimbursement amount. Like most dining mystery shops they do not reimburse for ordering the more expensive things on the menu.
I have shopped four different locations. One does not have happy hours and the only way you can take advantage of happy hours prices is if you have a Fire reward on your app. Redeem a Fire reward and you get to enjoy happy hours prices. I believe you can use a Fire reward M-TH only.

I have done so many shops that I have more Fire rewards than I can use during shops.

The more you eat at Gyu-kaku and use your app, the more rewards you earn. One cool thing is the shop guidelines say we can't use discounts but I have used my rewards during some shops. I left a comment under the disclosures tab each time to let the editng team know I used rewards and not discounts and have never had any issues.
