While I rarely posted about Presto, I had very similar complaints. I stopped using them and deleted the app. It's good to know that they listened to shopper complaints and made improvements.

Those convenience store shops. Also, my phone company expanded their service which could have something to do with it but I don't think so. The overall speed of uploading and updating is lightening fast. And it was painfully sluggish or just crashed in those functions before even when I had perfect reception.
There are shops from big MSCs that are listed only on Presto. If you're not using it you're missing opportunities.
I went into the app via the website. Maybe that made the difference?
I have never seen a shop on Presto worth doing. Too little pay -- and way to boring.

Thank you for this thread. I have never done a Presto before. Negative posts about the app were one of the main reasons. I will probably take a look this weekend.
I had not completed a Presto shop in more than a year. The tasks were useful and not inherently difficult, but the reports were a hassle. I might give Presto another try soon. I still need alternatives to the talking head job, and I am willing to try a now do-able Presto. Thanks for the heads up!

Yep. I just tried to access Presto via the app icon and it just spins, going nowhere. Definitely use the web address to get to the site.

I did one of the blue pinned convenience stores using it this week. It worked well for me. I've never had any problems either on the website or the app opening. But this was the first or second shop I'd actually completed on the app.
Honestly would love to use Presto more. Just cant justify the pay for most everything I see. There is over 1000 opportunities in my area and even then a route would barely be worth the hassle.
The blue pins, pricing at c-stores, at $12 a pop and 5 per location (by my math, $60) very well worth it.
But they never could figure out how to pay me. Well, guess what? That means I won't do them. And I really, really wanted to do them, because they worked into routes so nicely -- when you're doing a revealed audit for one company, no employee will EVER ask you why you are taking so many photos inside; they just assume it's part of the audit.

Also any information on all the TMO shops that popped up?
Instructions say you have to have access to the store, must stay at least five minutes looking at devices and can't reveal you're a shopper. See if they use the customer check in system and wear masks? What if there aren't any other customers? Do they still have to check you in? And what does that entail? Your name on a list?
How many people ask about a device for five minutes? Doesn't seem feasible. In my area they are going for $10.
Proof is a discrete picture of the front door including an adjacent business. The picture has to be close enough to see a certain Covid sign on the window.

Ever seen these get higher than $7? I could be tempted for a $10 a piece route on one of these slow days ahead.
There is currently a $20 shop at a greek(ish) restaurant here on Presto. No reimbursement, but the required purchase is only $9+tax. It requires 3 pictures, including the receipt and about 10 yes or no questions. I assume there is some kind of narrative involved for no answers. But the shop I did went very smoothly and I got a really big bowl of tomato soup for my trouble. I think the restaurant is a national chain, I've seen it in other places because I seek out greek food whenever I can.

I did two today. They are super easy. You don't need to interact with anyone. Just tell them you are browsing the phones. I chatted with one fellow because I really wanted to know a bit about the phone, but otherwise you are in and out in 5 minutes. I keep the app open and do it while I'm there. No one bothered me and photos were easy peasy.

I try to use presto when I remember to. I missed 3 shops the other day because the dang thing is so slow to load and when it does it only loads a couple of inches of the map on my tablet. I went to prestomaps.com and it is still messed up. I have complained about it for over a year now. Plus I get all of these tobacco shops from different companies for the same locations. I had four for one store from several MSC's.

What type of tobacco shop is showing up for you? ID check?
One of the biggest problems with Presto shops is they have to be done in 24 hrs so there is no planning for routes. They are best suited to large metropolitan areas where there are many shops within 5 miles and can be done quickly especially since the reports have to on the spot so you don't get the annoying popups.

MobiAudit is a mobile app designed for Shopmetrics platforms. Both Ipsos and Alta360 use it, and I assume there are other Shopmetrics platform companies that use it also. It's one of the easiest to use mobile apps, since the old MaritzCX OnSite app is gone now.
