BP Certification

This certification quiz is ridiculous. I've taken it over and over and over again and can't pass it. I'm sure they must have a mistake on it. Anyone else have trouble with it? Any tips? Thanks.

Yes. I haven't been able to pass it. And I'm unable to download the guidelines from the app. with my android devices. I might try again later tonight using 2 devices. Tablet to view guidelines, phone to take test.
You can ask for help though the help desk and they maybe able to tell you what questions you have wrong.
Edit: I finally got it, immediately after posting this : ) go figure.

Yes it is. Last years took me about 20 attempts until l finally figured out which question was giving me hell, but I finally got it. Now, for 2022 I cannot for the life of me remember which one was the problem question and I have made about 30 attempts to no avail. It's driving me insane, because I know I am answering them correctly. I believe it was one of the multiple answer questions that hung me up before, but not certain.

There is no mistake. All of the answers to all of the questions are in the guidelines and in the pop guide. Some of the questions only have one answer, some of the questions have more than 1 answer, and on at least 1 of the questions every single answer is correct and you have to pick all of them. I'm afraid to give you any more hints than that.

And for the record, it it took me about 10 tries. For the 1st time in a couple of years that I did it without help.

Is this for the lighting audit? I had problems too. Eventually emailed for help and was told which ones were wrong from my last attempt. I do believe there are some unusually ambiguous questions and at least one mistake. There is a question about going to BP website to verify hours of operation. The guidelines advise to use the website to verify correct LOCATION but state that you should call the location to verify HOURS. Although, I believe on the initial job info page when you select the assignment, it might mention using the website for hours, it does not say this in the guidelines.

Also, I don't remember the exact wording of the T/F statement, but I believe the question about non-price panels on the MID may have been incorrect. The guidelines clearly say that a non-price panel that is unlit is an infraction. The "correct" answer to this question reflected the opposite.
I have been completing both of these audits for over 8 years and this year is the first time I had problems with the quizzes. I know these shops very well, and always read the guidelines before a quiz, but I just could not them right this time. I reached out to my scheduler, and she was able to tell me the one question I missed on each of them, and then I passed it.
Wondering the same thing! Why does it take twice as long to get certified as it does to do the audit... And asking for help does not get help it gets the questions that were missed...

Knowing which questions you got wrong is or should be or all the help you need. You can go back and check the guidelines, read and find the correct answers. The idea is to have the knowledge, not just to pass the test. As I said before, ALL of the answers are in the guidelines and in the POP guide.

Everybody learns differently, some people learn from what they read, some people learn better if they hear the information. Some folks need videos but there are no videos of the guidelines. If you have trouble understanding what you're reading, maybe you can find somebody that will read the guidelines to you to see if you understand it better that way. My youngest son is one of those people, he doesn't have really good reading comprehension, so i read the guidelines to him, not only when he takes the certification tests, but also before he leaves to do the jobs (because he also has the memory of a goldfish... lol)

I absolutely agree with you. I've taken this test 100 times and contacted them and they tell me to go over question 7 + 20 again. It is not clear in the guidelines so I have tried a hundred different answers and still tells me I failed.
I'm pretty sure I've said this before. Some of the multiple answer questions require you to choose all of the answers.

On one test I had a scheduler tell me there was a tick question. Having a trick question isn't right. You're not going for a degree. Another time I was told there were two answers for one question, but you can only pick one. No matter which answer you picked, you got it wrong. The company never fixed the test so the scheduler had to fix it for you.

Wow, talk about the way back machine, back a few years with the previous mystery shopping company.
Good grief - at the base rate? I understand that they are offering more this time than in previous waves, but it amazes me that people will not wait a month for the rates to go up a bit!

someone wiped all the BPs in my area already so I don't have to take it anymore
I agree - but the rates will go up if people hold off for a while. I did hardly anything at the beginning of the month because fees were so low. The red/white/blue audits got bumped up to $30 a couple of days ago. I think people overbooked themselves with the company’s new client, so the RWB’s sat on the board for a while and got a raise. I’m doing some audits now that usually pay $8 - company is in a crunch, so they’re paying over $50 each…and they take about 20 minutes (and I’m not very fast).

$28 for 30-40 minutes isn't a bad rate.
I am with you. I can't pass this quiz either. I bet I have taken it over 50 times. I'm reading the guidelines while taking the test and still can't pass it. Someone help!

Take some hints from the folks who have already passed. Like on this thread, and on at least 2 other threads on the same subject. It is a difficult test. And it is ALWAYS the questions that require more than one answer that stump me every time.

How do I get in touch with the scheduler? The assignment is on Presto Shopper.

What MSC is the shop for? Look on their site.
A scheduler has not been assigned to this project as of the current date. You will have to send an email to the general mailbox. Please DO NOT list the name of the MSC in this thread as it will be taken down for violating your ICA.

In reviewing my files for every BP/Amoco gas station, I noted how many years I was doing them. I remember their editors were almost as demanding as the Shell editors.
Of course, this was with the old MSC.
When a new round of shops would come onboard, I would take the quiz and then assign the shops I wanted, creating a logical route. Then, I would review the debrief by opening it and adjust my worksheet (or cheatsheet) for any new questions and photos that might be needed. To this very day, I still do this with many of the various gas station brands that I audit.
With that old MSC, I noticed that if I opened the debrief to review all of the questions that were asked, along with the necessary photos, I would begin getting messages and phone calls from one of the MSC schedulers/reps or whatever they were referred to as, asking when I was going to finish the report (or debrief as they called it).
It was more or less a courtesy call.
But, what I remember the most about the old MSC was the amount of assistance that was always at hand - especially so was the assistance with the quizzes.
For instance, after a failed third try for any of the quizzes, there was always someone at the old MSC who would review your quiz (over the phone) and explain in detail why a question you answered was incorrect (especially so the "trick" questions).
After the review, they would clear you for performing the assignment.
Sadly, it seems, that is no longer an option. Too bad.
