In reviewing my files for every BP/Amoco gas station, I noted how many years I was doing them. I remember their editors were almost as demanding as the Shell editors.
Of course, this was with the old MSC.
When a new round of shops would come onboard, I would take the quiz and then assign the shops I wanted, creating a logical route. Then, I would review the debrief by opening it and adjust my worksheet (or cheatsheet) for any new questions and photos that might be needed. To this very day, I still do this with many of the various gas station brands that I audit.
With that old MSC, I noticed that if I opened the debrief to review all of the questions that were asked, along with the necessary photos, I would begin getting messages and phone calls from one of the MSC schedulers/reps or whatever they were referred to as, asking when I was going to finish the report (or debrief as they called it).
It was more or less a courtesy call.
But, what I remember the most about the old MSC was the amount of assistance that was always at hand - especially so was the assistance with the quizzes.
For instance, after a failed third try for any of the quizzes, there was always someone at the old MSC who would review your quiz (over the phone) and explain in detail why a question you answered was incorrect (especially so the "trick" questions).
After the review, they would clear you for performing the assignment.
Sadly, it seems, that is no longer an option. Too bad.
