Have you noticed gas station shops being taken faster.

I've noticed some gas station shops being taken without any bonus. They are taken shortly after being posted. Have you noticed this?

I just can't imagine why that might be! (Sarcasm)

Yea, it's getting difficult to get gas station shops to stay on the board until they get bonus' lately. Not just the ones that are close together in the city either, even the remote stations are going quickly.
Some always get taken early, but not many are getting taken early in my area this time around. I think the number that gets scooped up largely depends on the rotation cycles of the high volume/low pay shoppers in an area. Last month, almost every monthly in my area went for peanuts while the month before they lingered on the board.
I may be wrong but to me that screams “New Shopper that does not know any better” A Scheduler told me that new Shoppers often did that. I used to see it for a burger place they would list them for $6 but they would be bonused and the Scheduler would offer me several for $18+

I am waiting for the next exciting opportunity!
I would question whether the shops were really taken at base pay without a bonus. I routinely take a large number of shops at three times the base rate the first week of each quarter. Since the shops don't show up on the job board once they're assigned, there is no way for other shoppers to know how much the jobs were assigned for. I would assume that if another shopper asked for a bonus that was less than I was getting, the MSC would go with that shopper instead.

Not sure what you're implying, but if it's because gas prices are higher, I think it would be the opposite. The minimal purchase reimbursement covers less gas than it used to.

In my area, they are often bonused, and pretty high at times. And I still don't take them.
I was just coming over here to see if anyone was posting about gas station shops. They are flying off the board in South Texas! As others have mentioned, even the remote ones I look forward to a pretty drive and a nice bonus are mostly gone.
I am in Canada and outs have dropped to basically nothing as well. Its not worth doing, but clearly people are still taking them all.

Mister Bill, I don't follow your thinking..If I need gas for my vehicle and it's over $5.00/gal and I do two gas station shops, I'm reimbursed $10. After spending $20 I've only paid $10 for my gas and made $25. If you don't do the shops you're paying $20 for your gas and not getting paid anything for those jobs, so I will take a few locally to help with the outrageous price of gas. Those farther away can wait until later in month when they may be bonused and might still be available, but in the meantime, I've got some gas to use for other shops. I would think it's logical to believe that others are finding the gas prices crimping their shopping value and therefore are taking the gas shops to help subsidize that cash outlay.

So if they're bonused quite high, why are you not taking them? You don't do gas stations at all? I find one brand easy peasy since I've been doing them for years. They are usually done in less than 25 minutes.

But, but... HOW??? The 2 MSCs that have the most gas shops could make Lincoln squeal - they pinch those pennies so hard! One doesn't even agree to a workable fee until weeks into a new quarter for the previous quarter shops. Is there a more agreeable MSC?
Yep! The posted price is about 1/3 of what others are sitting in my inbox at. And if I happen to be near any of the same brand that are on the job board I just email/ call the scheduler and get it assigned to me at the rate I have for the rest. Others might see it sitting there for a low price and then BOOM, gone.... but not for the rate you might think.

My coworker takes them at a low pay. She is a new shopper. She can't be convinced to wait. She is also consistently flaking and getting poor scores from the MSC. You'd think they'd prefer better shoppers at higher pay. There's an incentive structure here, though, to do the bare minimum. One hand washes the other. How many people like to do extra work because it is the "right thing to do"? "Would you like to submit any additional photos (optional)?"
Whover took them orphaned the three locations in Presidio, TX. It will be fun to see how much they end up having to pay for those three locations. It will also be interesting to see how overdue they let them become.

Wow. I guess we are in different areas. All of major brands where I am are with the two cheap MSCs. Bummer. I really need to move.
I think it may have more to do with geography. Different schedulers in different parts of the country.
Still about the same pace where I live. Gas is high $5 to over $6 (per gallon) in my area so I think shoppers are even more motivated to wait until they are bonused before grabbing them.
I have been wondering if it is worth it. Re-embusre one gallon at these prices and one dollar in store purchase and there is nothing in store for one dollar.

There is always penny candies and little debbie snacks.
In the areas that I shop, I don't see anything different. There are a couple of brands that are due at the end of april, and they both seem to have even more locations still available than normal.
I see some due tomorrow without any bonuses. What’s that about? One I did for more than $30 is sitting at $12.50? What’s your rate?
Both of the brands I'm referencing above are on shopmetrics and they start at $10. They are not one of the brands that start at 12.50.

They are sitting at $30, but I doubt very many of the locations that are left are actually going to get done for that amount.
How does a $2.50 BIG bonus strike your fancy? ( evil grin) I believe I saw a certain “Blue” company report $8.9
billion fourth-quarter profit
as oil prices soar. As IC collect peanuts to do shops or at least asked to do them…

I took acouple of those just because they were close.
I believe those that mock people taking gas jobs at their starting prices don't need the money. Times are tough. I'll happily take the 12.50 jobs for that 5 dollars of gas. 8 shops gets a hundred dollars in your pocket and 40 dollars of free gas. Jobs are close together where i live, less than 2 miles apart, so i can do them in about two hours. 50 dollars an hour doesn't stink.
If there are several locations very close to each other, you can make more than minimum wage at base pay. However, in today's environment, any additional milage quickly makes base-pay gas stations approach "working for free". I did 7 locations in the California desert a couple of weeks ago, and I had 800 miles total of driving and 15 hours of my time. I spent $225 total in gas and $60 on a rental car. I actually saved money by not using a personal vehicle. Replacement vehicles are so expensive now, that the wear and tear depreciation on currently owned vehicles is even more expensive than ever. I needed to make $285 just to break even. They had to pay out the wazoo to get me to agree to that. In the end they did, and I made quite a bit of $$$. However, accepting those shops for even $100 each would have only netted around $26 an hour. Accepting them at base pay would have amounted to me paying $180 for the privilege of working 15 hours for free. New shoppers don't take all the expenses into account.

I haven't seen anybody mock anyone for for taking base price jobs. And if you believe that you are making money taking all of those jobs at list less than minimum wage, go for it have a blast. You could easily wait a week or 2 weeks and get all of those same jobs at twice the price come on and make double that, and have more money to cover your bills, and maybe make enough extra to buy food too.

I personally would rather do fewer jobs for more money. But that's just me.
