Word of warning: Not so Lucky Duck!

Just had a shop rejected because the cashier provided a faulty receipt from a different location.

Despite having an excellent rapport with the project manager, and providing a screen shot from my mileage tracking app showing I was in the vicinity of the assigned location, I am out the cost of the wash and the bonused shop fee.

From now on I will be checking the receipt for accuracy, GeoVerifying each visit (even though the MSC doesn't use it) and, if possible, I will also get a picture of the building showing the address (the alternate POV if a receipt is not available).

Did you pay by credit card? Can you show that? If not, then you could also dispute the charge with the credit card company since they say you went to a different location than you were in.

I've seen locations use wrong receipts before and I've never had a shop rejected thru no fault of my own. I'm not sure what client this is. You are not saying the shop or the client name (or maybe LUCKY DUCK is the name, i don't know), so it's hard to know what to suggest.

I also have google maps that tracks my trips (guess i'm not worried about them knowing where i'm driving), that can show all the places I drove to and how long I was there.

Furthermore, if you gave names/descriptions of employees, they could easily verify the employee is at the location you were saying they were at. From you description, it sounds like a crap MSC that is just trying to get out of paying you if you are giving accurate facts in your post.

Why doesn't the company use your report to investigate why they are giving shady receipts. Sounds too convenient.
Hardly a crap MSC. They are one of the long-standing, industry leaders. The brand is Quick Quack car wash, with Lucky Duck being their premium product. The shops are audio recorded, and the employee name matched the name on the receipt, but, as indicated in OP, it was from a different location.

In this instance, because of my relationship with the project manager, they claim they investigated with the company as opposed to just rejecting the shop right up front. I'm guessing the employee's time card for the day would prove the foul up, but the case has been closed.

If you paid cash, you got an old receipt and the employee probably pocketed the cash you paid for the car wash. It was probably never rung into the register.

It's one of the thing bar integrity shops look for.
From what I remember seeing, these don't even pay that much anyways. I never bothered with these car wash shops. Seemed like a hassle to me. Then to have MSC not honor your work is lame. If you truly did the correct location, I would be more pissed about it.

So what are you gonna do the next time you visit this location and the same clown gives you a bad receipt? I would bust out video on him and then tell them i expect double pay to make up for the time before when they screwed you over.
I wish you would have named the mystery shopping company because shoppers need to be warned about them.
So it's your fault the receipt was wrong? No way. Another example of schedulers not supporting their own shoppers.
Unfortunately, the credit card billing information shows the company's home city and not the location where the charge was made.

Obviously YMMV, but I love these shops, especially as a ride share driver. I get SO many compliments from my riders for my clean car, which typically gets washed for free 3 times a week thanks to this program. If the program ever ends I will gladly do their monthly unlimited membership. I've kinda gotten addicted to having a really clean car.

Pay plus reimbursement is always at least $25, and there are regular bonuses for more distant locations in this market area. Time on site is usually about 15 minutes, and completing the report maybe takes another 20 minutes tops after checking the audio recording.

Well worth it in my book...
I have had faulty receipts that I questioned before as well, on the spot if I caught it then. In the one, the same person owned several locations and had them all on the same address, even though the physical locations were different (all local). Sometimes it may be an issue to corporate or the franchise, other times not, but it seems to me that such would be integral to various they might be looking for in hiring a MSC in the first place. I have always included notes on any such in my reports. Moreover, after irrefutably establishing that it was indeed the correct location, I have never had an MSC refuse to pay for a shop because of a faulty receipt.

Not only are they low pay but they are risky because I've had my phone hiccup and screw up the audio recording and if there's any distortion at all in that they won't pay kind of a risk for $5
There was a pizza shop that I did about two or three years ago.. This pizza shop had always been at XXXX location.. The pizza shop moved up the street to YYYY..

The email had the new address but when I got the receipt it was showing the old address.. After I did the report, I sent an email to the scheduler saying that my receipt was showing the old address. My shopped was approved and she thanked me for letting her know about that.

The next month, when I went to view the guidelines and the report, it had a note saying that the receipt might have XXX address. As long as you follow the guidelines and take the require pictures, your shop will be approved smiling smiley
