Underwear in the kitchen

I just did a Five Guys shop and wanted to get your opinion on this. One of the the crew members wore his pants completely below his butt cheeks so that his underwear was prominently on display. I honestly do not know how he kept his pants up. I've obviously seen this before on shops and have commented on it, but this time I marked the employee as ungroomed/unkempt as it was the worst I've seen and I don't like the idea of underwear being that close to my food.

Do you think it qualified as ungroomed/unkempt or am I being too harsh, or maybe just too old? In general, I've always though it looks dumb, but in the kitchen it seems like a cleanliness issue.

When is this stupid "fashion statement" going to go away? Is it just a permanent part of culture now?

Okay. getting off soapbox now and opening the floor to discussion.

Report what you saw. Do not include opinions. I'm almost 100% sure shirts must be tucked in at Five Guys. Every chain restaurant has a dress code policy which in a very real way is part of their branding. I doubt any restaurant would condone their employees to wear clothes in a manner that exposes their underwear at mid butt cheek level. Imagine the amount to times that person reaches back there to pull their pants up prior to serving you (smile).
I've marked down for visible underwear as unkemot/ungroomed before. I mention3d why in the comment section.
I had the same thing today. Literally, below his butt with full view of undies. I haven't done the report yet, but intend to mark off for it. I have also done so at one a few years ago, especially because the guy kept tugging at his pants while cooking...ugh..I found it disgusting,

Gosh, I hope they don't start asking for photos of the infraction!
That would not be necessary. They can simply go to their camera footage to verify this.

Shocking that any manager would allow this.
I think I'd covertly try to take a few photos, or video, and send it off to any higher-ups I could find!!! Yuck, that sounds so gross to have to see that!!!

I definitely consider this ungroomed/unkempt, and wholly inappropriate in any work environment -- but especially in a kitchen, as you say.
Most people I see wearing their pants that way are holding them on with one hand. So, was he only using the remaining hand for work?
I have marked employees as unsatisfactory appearance for butt showing pants. Fashion is somewhat subjective so I write notes in my comments of what I observed and they can't decide if it is just my opinion or unprofessional appearance. The two fashion choices that are my pet peeves are the butt showing pants and pants that look like rags with the knees ripped out.
We are not supposed to write about our 'feelings' but I marked an employee once as 'unsatisfactory' for wearing a baggy unbuttoned shirt over a T. And feel guilty to this day. But mostly I didn't like the uncaring vibes he sent out.

No, He was somehow able to keep them up without having to grab his crotch or waistband with one hand. I was actually kind of impressed with that aspect of it.
