Oh, no! Perfectly awful, horrid shopping day!

Got a nice assignment, 4 shops 100 miles away, $75 each.

First gas station, tried to use the app on site. Nope. Opened the website and tried to report-as-I-go. Nope. More than an hour and a half later, I gave up, took the photos with my digital camera, and went to shop #2. It went OK. On to shop #3. Ordered a burger at the hedgehog shop; waited 25 minutes after I ordered, and left.

Now, heck, I remember the guidelines saying wait 20 minutes and if not served, leave.

Don't know when that changed, but when I got home and started the report, guess what? Nope. Not only did I not eat, but I won't get paid, either!

So then I go to report gas stations. #2 and #3 are there, but #1 disappeared.

Ugh ugh and ugh. A $300 profitable mini-route turned into a disaster. I can reschedule the hedgehog; I hadn't begun the report, so I merely rescheduled. No big deal, except it means driving 200 miles round trip one day this week after work (double ugh) for a crummy $75.

And wrote the helpdesk -- opening the report and doing part of it on site royally screwed up everything. If they open the report back up, I can use the photos I took with my digital camera -- IF they give the report back to me!

Since I couldn't use the app to report, I'm exhausted (over 4 hours of actual work, 4 hours of driving), and I'm looking at more hours inputting reports.

And this is my day off!

(Edited to add: The icing on the cake? Gas stations' hard deadline today, so cannot be rescheduled. )

So what do the guidelines say you are to do if your food doesn't show up? Go and pound on the window?
I sympathize @ceasesmith! Hope you are able to get a good night's rest and line up some more hedgehogs to go with the one you have smiling smiley

Technology is great when it works right but it stinks when it doesn't.
I don't know what the guidelines say about about them never bringing food out.. But if I paid for something I had better get it.. I will not drive away until I either get my food or get my money back. I would push the button again and ask them what the f*** is going on

This is a shop where you pay for your order when it is delivered.

Update: They reopened the report that disappeared. Now I can enter the photos I took with my digital camera. I've been working on the reports since 4 AM, and it's now 7:32 AM. Oh, I so wish they had an app that actually WORKS.

I don't know what was wrong. First photo uploaded just fine. Second photo, and everyone thereafter, said "file with this name already uploaded". This MSC is absolutely murder on "duplicate photos" (no second chances here, folks!), and it just wouldn't accept the photos. I just don't understand.

It said this even if I used the "take photo" option, not choosing the photo from "library". What a waste of time!

I used to change the file names by putting an “X” after them to remind myself which photos I had uploaded. I don’t know if it would work or not but maybe you could put an “X” at the end of each file name before you try to upload (?)

If it’s the hedgehog company’s gas shops, at the end of the report you will have an option to delete and upload photos if you are working on your laptop. You could then delete all the duplicates.

No doubt the market force app leaves a little to be desired. You have to upload each of the pictures into their app, then you have to attach each of the pictures to the question in the survey. And those thumbnails are hard to see on a phone.

You can't upload more than one pic at a time. And it takes them a minute to load, especialy in remote areas with weak signal. Happens to me every time i go to the Shoals... lol. In the past, I have had to delete all of the pictures and load them again, because the app got stuck and wouldn't let me add any more pics. The good part is when you attach the pic to the question it disappears, so as you get the pics linked to their questions it gets easier.

My 2.50 magnification readers are no match for those thumbnails though, I think I may invest in a magnifying glass just so I can see pics in their app... lol
wow! that is dedication. i always bypass shops that are more than 20 minutes away…
I had a sucky day too. Did a carry out wings shop. Food brought out late, given one fork for three people, no napkins, or ketchup for the fries. Food was dreadful, and report was narrative-heavy. No fee, just reimbursement for the crappy food. What a waste of my time.
Thought I'd post an update. Checked the shop, and it was actually approved for payment.

So, I still have to drive the 200 miles for a crummy $75 shop, but at least the other 3 were accepted.

Congratulations!! grinning smiley I hope you can line up some other shops on that 200-mile hike to cover the cost of gas - maybe it will end up being a profitable trip for you!

Oh, I am so sorry you need to make that drive again (you're so dedicated; some people would just cancel it). But glad the other shops turned out well. Such a PITA to go through, though!

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
@ceasesmith: Did you get to the shop that was 200 miles away? (We have snow and your state has some, too. We know what this often means for gigs.)

I did make the trip. The shop went well, and I'm getting the report in on time.

The snow missed us. Just barely, but it did run south of us.

I believe the poster was referring to the fact that I do not drive in snow and ice. I'm a lousy driver, and it's way too risky for the other l00 million or so drivers on the road for me to be out in those conditions!

Actually, I was referring to the facts that I did not know where you were working and there are frequent rollovers and crashes here and for hundreds of miles in any direction when it snows (and sometimes when it doesn't). The main thing is that you got 'er done. smiling smiley
