Probably Too Late to the Party on This...Just How Easy are the Convenience Store Shops

I see where the due date is today so I am missing it but for future reference, the convenience store store with the shape and the white "K". Has anyone done those shops? Seems easier than the other convenience store shops that are reveals or what not. For $16 pay out ($10 fee $6 reimbursement) it would have to be a volume play for me. There are like 85,000 South Texas locations so I could perhaps do that next go-round (if there is one).

Circle K is shopped by different MSCs in different parts of the country. The requirements differ greatly. Since you are talking about Texas, my information is of zero value to you.

BTW, the new MSC in my area has different requirements than the old MSC and seems to be doing statistical sampling rather than an enumerative study. In July they were only doing 1 of the 5 Circle K locations along the South Jersey Shore that I used to do. They were going to allow me to do any one of them, but I pointed out to the scheduler that due to distance and tolls, the fee barely covered the cost of the Atlantic City Expressway, and that doing all 5 used to cost not much more than what I asked for to do just one. She told me that she could never pay that much. Since the old MSC had to break rotation almost every month so that I could complete them, I expect the new MSC to have trouble getting any done, but they MIGHT have a different shopper pool.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008

How many questions? Any long narratives?

Compared to the ones at the other Cstore where you have to buy gas, go inside, make a purchase and take 8 other pictures this one sounds easier. It also sounds like I can do it all from my phone instead of having to come home and boot up the computer--also sounds like they sort of expect it to be "on the fly".
Very easy report. Yes/No except for cashier's description. 3 required pics (two are of the receipts). Two optional, easy inside pics. About 15 minutes total including report time via smartphone if the reception is good. I knock them out en masse when possible and it adds up nicely, I think. Hold the phone horizontally for pics.
Circle K in NY also had audits that were more involved and had a LOA you presented after mystery shopping. Much more involved including getting temperatures of the food and checking their log books.

The simpler ones you are talking about, I would do if you are going to be in the area. Otherwise, I would wait for bonuses or ask for bonuses. The old MSC used to be realistic with bonuses but I'm not sure about how the new MSC is handling it. These are now in Presto near me in NY and pay even less than the $16 total you're talking about.

Personally, I'd much rather deal with the old MSC than the new. I felt they were much more reasonable. But that's just my opinion.

Thanks.

Just be cool folks.
The Circle K shops in SW Ohio were so easy and conveniently located, I completed a mini-route of four at a total of $80 + $24 I guesstimate.my total time at three hrs.
I did a Mapco in TN this weekend and I'd call it moderately difficult. I had to take pics of the hotdog roller, grab & go and donut case - all of which are right by the cashier so it was awkward and I had to ask my husband to distract him. Other than that it was quick and easy. The report was a bit long, but not difficult.

I haven't seen any Circle K shops in my area, but all of the Circle Ks closed years ago and are just not coming back. I'll watch for them.
