Accepted a shop today for a carpet cleaning project with an MSC I've shopped before.

I open up the guidelines and I see a bunch of photos I've taken in the past for this project being used in the guidelines as acceptable photos. Brought a smile to my face today.

I sent the scheduler a message and said I was quite surprised that my photos were used as her examples. She complimented me on the photos and the quality of my shops in the past.

Although the MSC instituted a test qualify for the shop going forward, I still had to take it ,but passed quickly!

Made my day today!

Anyone else find their photos in guidelines or examples of their narratives show up?

Yes! I have seen many of my photographs in guidelines. Even when I send emails to show that a guideline was incorrect and I attach photographs of infractions along with those that show something correct, I have seen those also, in the guidelines. I too, was smiling, but would smile more if I was thrown a bone for it.

Yeah exactly! I really would have liked to have gotten out of having to take the test to prove I know how the guidelines work ???? or even better a couple extra bucks would have been nice! But I can't complain. I'll take having my carpet cleaned for free and a small fee for a fairly easy report any day of the week!

Yes, I have many of my photos in gas station shop manuals, and you can see my car in one of them.

As far as I know, none of my photos have shown up in guidelines but some of my narratives have. They were not for gas station shops.

I was featured in one MSC's News letter once. It included quotes from clients praising my attention to details and care when writting my narratives. Was extremely flattering, and made my day. A cash incentive would have been the cherry on top, but it did not appear.

I've never thought to look! I have seen my suggestions on shop guidelines implemented, though, which is a nice feeling.

I think because I consistently supplemented with separate notes, one type of report was modified to offer the option of additional comments in the standard form.

Yes, to both questions. It is always the best compliment for me when this happens.

I used to do Firestone Auto Care facility audits quite a few years ago. There was a question about whether the location displayed "approved" flags on the property exterior, and a picture that I took of some flags was one of the examples. I was always tickled to see it.

I also created an expense form that was used by one of the product recall/retrieval companies for a year or so. The particular company pays hourly for "all activity hours," which includes reading directions, route planning, time on site, drive time, etc, etc. I got pushback once from a project manager about my higher than average number of hours submitted. I was eventually paid. I made up a spreadsheet that detailed all of my activity to the minute, and submitted a screenshot of the spreadsheet on every job since, including to the current day. About 2 months after I submitted a screenshot of my spreadsheet expense form, a form that looked very close to the form that I had created started showing up as required for all field workers to fill out when they submitted their expenses. I always thought to myself that it would have been nice if the company would have at least contacted me and thanked me. Oh well. Since the day I got pushback about my expense amount, I have never received any comment about my expenses, which was the intent.
