$17 Arby's Shop?

Email says:
"VERY Easy $17 Arby's Drive Thru Shops!!

Can you complete any shops by Sun. Oct 2?

These shops pay $5 Shopper Pay + $12 Reimbursement"

SMH, Arby's MSC. You got my hopes up making me think the pay was $17, not the low starting pay plus reimbursement.

A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men.

In defense of the MSC...they are looking at is as...for the person who wants to eat Arby's and will spend $10-$12 anyway, then it is like $17 pay.

For us shoppers in it for the $$$, we obviously do not look at it this way.

It most certainly is being "shady" with the heading knowing it will cause more people to open it than they would if they had put "Arby's $12 reimburse + $5 pay" as the subject.

There are NOT many Arby's near me and I don't shop them for the most part. I might have done a total of 10 shops over the many years. I do NOT like being told what I have to order. That is one thing nice about the jack in the box shops. The menu is pretty open (not completely), but there is a choice.

So this MSC expect you to go at a certain time window and expects you to eat what they dictate and willing to pay $5. I can find better shops to perform for better pay. If I am that desperate for food, I can go to Costco and get the $1.50 hotdog combo.
There are a few that are up at $27 total now, but none close enough to me to make it worth it. I won't do them at base unless I'm craving Arby's--which doesn't happen often.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
Another MSC just posted "$2 Church's 2-piece FEAST combo + $10 reimb, dine-in/drive-thru, your choice!"

At least they were honest and saved many people from bothering to open the link.

Ain't gonna lie, you had me in the beginning. First thought was, "Where? WHERE?"
Like HB said, I do not like being told what to order, either. I did have a truly easy Subway shop Tuesday. It was to see if the cashier was correctly entering the sale when you pay with cash. Sure enough, he saw the cash in my hand and did not enter the sale on the register. He used a calculator and told me what my cost was. Then I was supposed to act like I forgot to order 3 cookies and use cash again. The minute I did that he just said: "Two dollars." I guess they are having a huge problem with associates pocketing the cash. Yikes. The shop only paid $5.00 and reimbursed the sandwich - $10.72, cookies - $2.00, and I received the payment already today, $17.72. The shop was 2 miles from me so, I did not care about the low pay. Locations further away were listed at $8.00 base.
I did not know that was Sub way was shopped.. I guess they are not shopped in my area or I am just missing them sad smiley

I have had a few shops like that where I need to pay cash and to see if they ring it on the cash register. and put the money in the register. Most of my shops I pay with cash anyway..

I will use my debt card when I get gas .

Its like the emails "HUGE BONUS". Bonus is a whopping $2 when you actually read the email.
Maybe they are thinking of percentage increase and basing their "huge."

So if a shop pays $5 and they add $2 bonus, that's a 40% bonus. So in their minds, that is HUGE. In most shopper minds, $2 is a waste of time.

Those emails are annoying because its so obviously disingenuous. C'mon MSC, we're all adults, just be honest. I know you want your shops filled, but pulling stunts like that does not endear shoppers to you.

TBH I kind of like the Arby's shops. They are pretty easy and don't take that long and I don't mind ordering only the promo. It's nice to tack on to a route and not have to pack lunch. It's always interesting though because there are about 10 within 30 minutes of me and half of them start at $15 and the other half start at $5. Guess which ones I do?
Re Subway it was a 100% app based company that is known for the scavenger hunts. They don't do tons of mystery shopping or audits. But the subway showed up for either credit card or cash shops in some locations.

I do the Arby's shops from time to time depending on what sandwich is and if they are shopped in my area at the time.
Fair point, but its akin to clickbait in my opinion. I'd bet the schedulers think in dollars like the rest of us in the real world.

Well RBG is sending an e-mail whose subject states "phone shop".

If you open the e-mail you will find that it is actually a chat, phone call, web inquiry and some kind of digital app shop. There are four components to the shop. Now it does pay $42, but it's not just a phone shop!

To me this is very misleading.

I did a few of these and decided to not take any more unless they raise the fee or bonus them. Even after the first one, the efficiencies you gain by having set up several email addresses, a Google phone #, a screen-shot document that you can re-use, etc., and have the process down, I don't think they're worth it. Especially if you get either an aggressive salesperson who keeps calling and texting and emailing, or one who won't give you information, and you have to pull teeth to get it.

And I agree that just having "phone" shop in the subject line is misleading. They used to have a different line; I wonder if they know shoppers are just deleting these if they realize what shop it is. LOL.

I really like RBG, but these shops can be a nightmare. When they go well, they go well, but when they don't.... You can follow the instructions to the letter, then get the shop bounced back to you for something missing that wasn't in the guidelines, or you didn't do what you were supposed to the way you were supposed to, although that wasn't specified, either. Maybe they've fixed that issue by now, but the guidelines didn't exactly match what they wanted you to do.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!

I actually like this. After the first few, I got much more efficient. I do as many as I can. The phone portion is generally the most time-consuming.

I almost accepted one of the Subway shops where you had to pay cash, then pretend you just forgot or thought to add 3 cookies. After a few days of seeing these, I thought surely the cashier is on to us, with so many people forgetting the cookies until the last minute. And then paying for the cookies by credit card? If not, they'll find out later if they didn't ring up the cash sale.

I have not seen them yet but you pay for the meal with cash and then pay for your cookies with a Debit/Credit Card?

The last 2 LTO's that they've shopped have been sandwiches that I want to try, but they don’t have the ingredients. And I am NOT a fan of the regular roast beef sandwiches. I really want to try the current rib sandwich LTO, but I doubt I'll be able to, unless I go down south to visit my grandson.
