Texas Road House Take Out shops No more

I just found out they are not doing the Texas Road House Take Out Shops any more

They are still doing the dine in and the bar ones.

Sad day for me.. Sniff Sniff

I believe I did one shop with them years ago. Now I just ignore the emails every time I see no pay/fee only reimbursements. Pickup or delivery shops with no pay/fee are one of my few exceptions.

But more dine in and bar shops for others.

These shops go fast in my area..

I would love to do these shops at night after a busy day at work.

I could call my order in and it would be ready at the quoted time..

I loved having a nice hot supper (not dinner) after work

The take-outs shops were my favorite.

Huh? There (was) $35 reimbursement for take out
There IS $45 for bar shops & $50 for dining room. That's pretty good in my opinion!

Thank you. I edited my response. Yes I meant reimbursement only. Pickup or delivery shops with reimbursment only I do not mind. But having to sit in the bar or dining room is low on my list unless its a restaurant I haven't tried before or restaurants I truly enjoy.

I have done several dine TRX shops with my wife. I have also done several TRXH takeout shops.. I don't mind doing theses shops at all.

I prefer the TRH take out shops but I will do the dine ones every once in a while...

I have never done the bar ones

Thanks for the heads up. I saw the dine in and bar refresh for March, so I'll stop waiting on the pick up. They were a favorite among those in my house who don't have to reflect and write about them - lol - but me too.

I did my first Bubba's 33 take out shop the other day. I think the MSC should give you a medal if you complete all 3--the bar shop, the dine-in shop, and the take out shop in successive months.

How did you find out they are no longer doing Texas Roadhouse takeouts? I did one 2-12-23.

They just posted the March shops. The only ones posted are dining room and bar. I was in rotation for a take out in March

I haven't sat at the bar since the pandemic started. I don't feel comfortable. Well, I guess it's back to the dining room I go....

The last TRH shop I did was Dec 5 (which was Take out).. So I was looking forward to my TRH meal in March..

When I saw the bar shops and the dine in shops (About 15 minutes or so apart) I was wondering if they were going to do the take out shops.

I email the scheduler and asked if will the take out shops be posted? They said that they were not doing them anymore.

When they said they I guess they meant the TRX

I've done a few bar shops but, as a woman, the constant staring - why is she here by herself? - becomes so annoying. I'm here on business! Shame, because they need to monitor the take out shops. I've had quite a few with issues, missing items, etc.

Yes, I had missing items with my take-out shop. And the food was not hot by the time I got it home, so it sort of turned me off to the shop. I used to enjoy the bar shops and never felt uncomfortable at the bar by myself. They had pretty good deals for early birds if I remember correctly. But the lack of a payment fee makes me not so quick to want to do them.

I used to do them when my hubby was out of town or busy with something else..I'll have to see if I can kick him out for a trip soon so I can do one. He's a pita to take on dining shops. Always wants to order what he wants to order (over reimbursement) and hims and haws if I ask him for help with names etc. The only one I found he enjoyed was Roots Steakhouse which was fine dining and he loved it. Unfortunately they ended with covid.

It's been a while since I checked, but I believe you can do the dine in, non-bar, shops solo also.

As long as I have done the Take Out Shops, (I did lots of them), there was one time the food was cold when I got home and one time my order was messed up. I always went from work to the TRX and from TRX to the house

My son would always ask if I could get him some bread and butter

They still have early bird specials from 3 PM to 6 pm I believe.

Unfortunately, not that kind of staring. I think the staring issue is because the restaurant is in a very suburban area, in a shopping center, near other shopping centers. The restaurant is very family oriented and does a lot in their community. There were always couples or men at the bar watching the game, or people waiting for a table. Same bartenders every single time, so they knew everyone and quickly knew I was the mystery shopper. I would visit every few months, longer than rotation, and would be back in town on business if asked. I've shopped for decades, so I'm good at disappearing. Any other bar shop, I'm a face in the crowd. These bartenders knew I liked extra cinnamon butter and hit every question like they were checking off a list. I assume they get their report results and check the cameras. Or, they were really great bartenders! I gave the bar shop a break pre-Covid so they could forget my face. At this bar, it was like Cheers waiting to hear, "Norm!"

There are still take-out shops posted for some locations. There are many locations that do not get shopped often.

Sorry. There are none that close to me either. I think it is mostly for areas that are difficult to fill. There are some locations though that even have more than one curbside. I have not figured out how and when certain locations get shopped. There are two locations near me that almost never have any shops. I have only seen shops for them one time. There are other locations near me that get shopped monthly. But there does indeed seem to be less curbside shops in general.

We just went to Texas Roadhouse last week. The place was packed! I asked the server what company does their shops and she had no idea.

Yes. I have been to quite a few locations. Nearly every location is almost always packed, often even right when they open. They have early bird deals when they open. The combination of free peanuts, free freshly baked bread with cinnamon butter, large portions, reasonable prices on food and drinks, and a lot of the food being fresh is understandably a large draw. In my opinion, it is one of the best chains for those reasons. Some of the menu items are quite good, but they also have some that are not so good.
