After shop call

I have done about 7 high end jewelry mystery shops. I believe I have only had an after visit contact once by email out of all the shops. Do you think they knew I was a mystery shopper and didn’t bother to reach out? Thoughts?

I don't think that they knew. I think that it is illustrative of the sorry state of business etiquette these days.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
If they knew you were a mystery shopper, then I think the opposite - they would have reached out.
When I worked in luxury jewelry (not for the company you shopped) I got dozens of shoppers a day. It would feel odd and pushy to reach out. I’m not quite sure how the shop goes (if it asks you to request a contact), but it just feels like an unreasonable shop expectation to me. I usually just chopped that up to the folks in the offices not understand the realities of the store.

But all that to say: no, they probably didn’t do it because they thought you were a shopper. They probably just didn’t have time/resources/interest in reaching out.
I get it. Thanks for the insight. I just thought I was doing something “wrong”
I find that calling a restaurant after you have left is odd. I often call a few days before and make a reservation and I htink that should suffice the phonecall requirement,
After shop phone calls baffle me too. For See's you have to call after you have visited and ask specific questions. Don't know why this can't be done before the shop.
Since the questions are specific, they probably want the call done after the shop so that it doesn't tip off the business that a shop is imminent.
I've done a bunch of high-end shops and the jewelry stores. One store was one that I actually have been a customer of in the past. And no, I've never had a follow-up from them even though I've already purchased expensive jewelry and I'm looking at a $5,000 plus watch.
