revealed FF shop question

I am doing my first revealed MS soon (fast food). I am being Fed-Exd some sort of prize in the mail to give the employee(s) if they do certain things right.

Are the prizes usually giftcards? Do I send it back to the MSC if the employee fails? Do I reveal myself regardless if the employee doesn't meet the prize requirements?

Thanks for any info!

Have you read all the shop guidelines? All these details should be spelled out in them. If they're not, you should email the scheduler. =)

I was accepted for the shop but the guidelines link has not appeared yet for some reason. I think it was an automated acceptance because I was approved within seconds.

Please disregard -- I can see the guidelines now! I had to refresh a bunch of times. :-)

P.S. The answers are all yes!

I have done a few of these shops you must reveal your self if they pass or fail. However you would only give out the prizes if they pass if not ypou would send them back to the MSC that sent them to you. Your guidelines should tell you everything I just told you, but make sure you read the guidelines or instruction so you will know for sure what to do.
The only ones I've done involve me handing them a paper certificate stating if they passed or failed. If they passed they will be entered in a drawing.
The ones I did involve the server receiving an IOU voucher for either a $50 or $100 Visa check card, depending on performance. Nice incentive! I haven't done the ones where the actual prize is sent to the shopper for distribution.

Mine were vouchers for an American Express gift card.

"Finally, whatever things are good, true, noble, lovely, of good report...if there be any virtue, if there be any praise...think on these things." ....It's a command, not a suggestion!
I have handed out certificates, Wal*mart gift cards and cola brand watches. The same client (cola) changes the gifts from time to time.
When I first started shopping FF I had nice gifts for the employees. They were shipped to me and if I had any left over I had to send them back. That went on for about a year then was dropped. Now they just get an "atta boy." The number of items sent was exactly how many employees worked that shift. So I either had all of them left over or none left.

There was a promotion, for a while, at another FF and it was gift cards for all on shift. I usually had all of them to send back. They were really particular about what was received and what was sent back so I usually did not open them until the site deserved them. That way I knew I was not going to get the count wrong.
I did the shop. The employee got his $20 giftcard for trying to upsell me. It was kind of fun!

A warm fuzzy!
I did 5 of these this week, with the last one tomorrow. I'm so sick of the disgusting sandwiches, and then realizing I will have to wait until the end of September for reimbursement- I'm adding these to my "never again"! list

End of September??? It says 25th of the month following the shop. I agree the sandwich wasnt the best, but I would do them again. Any easy shop I am up for.
I've done lots of prize shops and I really enjoy doing them when they are successful... it's so fun to give the employee their prize. Sometimes, I feel so bad because I've received terrific customer service at times, but the employee just didn't do exactly what they were supposed to do... that's when it breaks my heart to have to give them the Ooops! card.

What I think is kind of sketchy about this particular shop is that if the employee tries to upsell you, you can accept (and be reimbursed for) the additional food and drink. If the employee doesn't try to upsell, the shopper is not allowed to upgrade the sandwich to a combo, and is only reimbursed for the sandwich.

It's nice to think all shoppers are honest, and yes, it's just fries and a drink, but there should never (in my opinion) be any sort of incentive for the shopper to skew the results for free product. Instead, they should allow the employee the opportunity to upsell, and then if they don't, then the shopper can request the upgraded meal. I know that some places, like 5 Guys, already do it that way.

Sweepnet-
Do the math, please. I did the last shop on 8/1. I won't be paid until the "25th of the month following the shop" That's the end of September. I think I'll pass on future shops. As for the sandwich- the FIRST one wasn't bad. The second, third, fourth, fifth- well, by that time I didn't even want to look at them.

Sorry. But that is only the 1 shop at the end of Sept, the other 4 will be August, right? I did 9 of these. Got them all in July. And most of them ended up being bonused. Most of mine were drive thrus, so I shared the food.

I can remember sitting in the drive-thru chanting "Please upsell me. Pu-leeeeze upsell me!" to myself because I really liked whatever it was they were supposed to offer. It probably involved ice cream.
Yes, I took my 11 year old and she ended up with 2 floats. But the other 3 ( all done in one day) were all "oops" shops. UGH. One of the guys was REALLY peeved, and I got out as fast as I could.

Peeved employees are the worse part of a FF reveal. I had one manager follow me to the door telling me she was standing right beside the employee and they did not miss anything. She kept on getting louder and louder and I just walked off and left her talking. Her place was full with people at the counter and she was going off on me. I do not go back there.

The other one a manager who when I told her who I was she turned around and told me did not have time to fool with it and walked off. Her place was a ghost town with the only people inside or out were the employees who were laughing and talking when I walked in. OK if that is the way you feel have at it. I do not go back there either. It is a complete waste of my time.

Both stores stay on the board forever.
