With prices up...what do you do to stay under the $1 reimbursement?

As Halloween approaches, I am again doing what I did last year - buying the candy and/or peanuts tht cell for 2 for $1.09 or $0.59 each.
Even if I pay a little over one dollar, I am okay with it. Those purchases go into my Halloween Trick or Treater bag. To date, I have 4 or 5 grocery bags filled with giveaways for Halloween.
In the end, I've saved by not purchasing the bags of Halloween candy. Its fun to see the children's eyes light up when the see what I give them!
During the rest of the year, I buy the cheap unsalted peanuts for wildlife and the cheap crackers for making meatloaf and meatballs.

It works for me anyway.

Your local food pantry would probably like donations of those small Kleenex packs. The one I volunteer at has a "household" shelf where the neighbors can pick out one or two items each visit. I will have to remember that.

I have made comments in my reports and to my schedulers that the $1 “reimbursement” won’t buy anything, and that if they want me to do these assignments they will need to increase it to at least $2 so we can complete the assignment as directed.

You probably won't hear anything at all because the reimburse limit is mostly set by it's customer, not MSC. They can try to pass along the massage, but if the customer refuse to up the limit, there's nothing MSC can do at all in this regard.

It also costs nothing to email a reply to a concern and there has been none, except your suggestion. I won't be doing any more of those assignments unless they're well bonused, and they usually aren't.
