Anyone done the "Retail Audit" shops?

These are on one of the bigger msc's and seem to entail multiple store placement and product photos of 12 or 13 different tech products. The current pay is more than usual for retail shops but it sounds like it might be a lot of work. I am wondering if anyone has taken one and how it went.

I was also wondering about the shop. The pay is better as you mentioned, but there are numerous items to photograph. I am worried if I can stay discreet and photograph without the glare on the glass cases?
I took 3 of them but mine are scheduled for the weekend. Nobody usually bothers me in any of thosen stores. Just need to be organized and get all the pics. I did those best buy audits of appliances, if i can do that, i can do this.
I was interested until I saw the part in the guidelines about having to interact with an associate / representative. Talking electronics / tech stuff with an associate is not my strong suit, and that may add a lot of time on top of taking all the pics. Also, there are a lot of other shops in other industries available in my area, so I'd rather spend my time doing those.

I completed 5 this weekend. Its about 36-40 photos per store, but no one bothered me. Its a ton of photo uploading - took me about 30 minutes per report. The interaction with an associate is pretty straight forward, you are just asking their opinion on two types of tech wearables. All my locations were big box retailers, and the employees weren't really 'tech experts' so the conversations were pretty brief.

At $50 a pop, they are priced about right. 20 minutes in store, 30 minute report, drive time.

One thing I did was I looked up the item location in the store and took a list with me. It made the photos much easier. They are groupe by - headphones, gaming consoles and wearable devices. Really pretty straight forward.
I have one of these for tomorrow. It’s also a big box store, but from what I can tell, the smart glasses are in the Eyewear Shop in the front. Is that where yours were located? Did you have to use and “interact” with all the products?
I took one and it was in a Best Buy, where the required items were scattered all over the very large store. You have to give them the exact photos they request or the shop will be rejected. For me it was a nightmare, first trying to find all the items, then having to take three photos of each while people were walking in front of me. The report was lengthy with lots of “explain” text fields in each section. Maybe these would be easier in a Target or Walmart, where the electronics are in one department.

Thanks to Cassie and zany for relating their experiences.

I'm going to dive in and snag a Target store. There are some Walmart shops in my area, but oooohhhh I dislike going to Walmart. However, money talks.

Has anyone had theirs reviewed yet? I was told i can't return to the store to take an additional picture. Doesn’t state that in the guidelines. Of course no response from editor. Its ok to redo the entire thing but not take one pic for shop approval? Ugh, i did a few of these, only one reviewed so far.
I haven't seen the glasses in any of the Big Box stores, just the one Best Buy that I shopped. I'd recommend checking the store's website or app for the products. You can see what is in stock in the store, and whats not. At least in my area, all the glasses were only available online, not in store displays.

The only displays I've seen that were interactive were the gaming console displays
I've done a few of these across multiple stores. Once you do a certain store brand once or twice, you get the idea on what to expect for products and where they would be located. Same with the photos. You see one display pic that's approved, you see them all. Just don't forget if your store has an optical dept. I almost missed it until i was on my way out of one store and the frames were right there in front of me.
