From the TX Roadhouse guidelines: "*You must document the cost of your total transaction, including tip, to be reimbursed."

I have always provided an itemized receipt. Usually I take an extra person and go over the $35 so I provide only the itemized receipt since they will not be reimbursing the tip. Sometimes there are only two of us and I go under and am able to get my tip reimbursed, I present both my itemized and my credit card receipt. So I would say if you don't plan to be reimbursed for the tip, it doesn't matter whether you leave a cash tip or add into your credit card. If you plan to be reimbursed for the tip, definitely add it on the credit card.
For most meals they want the itemized receipt. I make it a habit of making sure I grab that when they bring the bill. They often want the itemized receipt make sure you truly adhered to requirements. Not sure how strict they are with the roadhouse shops.

For almost any kind of shop the MSC requires an itemized receipt. Always be sure to get one to ensure your payment/reiumbursement is not declined. It is typical for assigment instructions to have some mention of this, so look over the guidelines carefully.

It's just easier to remember to always get the itemized receipt you make any purchase. For some companies the credit card is okay, but the itemized receipt is much more standard. You're better off being in the habit of getting the itemized receipt so you always have it And don't need to worry about which one is which.
Beware they are starting to question even a totally positive shop. Not the receipt but the service. My gal passed and yet they said they did not think she did? Seems a little strange when she really did pass.

Odd. Haven't run into that yet with one of my visits/reports for Texas Roadhouse. What did the MSC actually say or ask?

I missed the itemized receipt and only had the CC slip one time last year. I wrote to the scheduler and it was accepted.

Unless you ask the server for a receipt, you can't. I always add the tip to the credit card receipt if I want to be reimbursed. The MSC typically reimburses whatever is on the receipt, up to $35.
The instructions I've gotten with these shops has always said to write the amount of the tip on the itemized receipt before scanning it and attaching it to the report. Even if the reimburseable amount has already been met with the food order, they want you to include the tip amount (because they require you to tip a minimum amount). It doesn't matter if you pay the food bill and/or tip with a credit card or cash (at least in my area), they request the itemized receipt with the tip amount written on the front of the receipt.
wooohooooo. through some digging around, I found the MSC that does this - I just started MS'ing last year. yipppe. Steak for dinner (soon).

Silver Certified, I own my own PV-500, and I do shops in and around the DFW area.
I almost didn't do this one because I'm a vegetarian. Then I went online to look up the menu and was I surprised! There are two entrees for those of us that aren't meat-eaters. So for those of us, go ahead and take the shop. I was able to take someone who enjoyed their steak and could comment on it, and I was able to eat a veggie meal and comment on that and still get paid. Btw, the veggie meal runs a little lower in price too but not that much. If you don't order appetizers you can pretty much get out for around the reimbursement/fee paid now.
Interestingly enough for me, it was a first time to eat there. They didn't have any line dancers either and I wanted to see them! Oh well, maybe next time...

It's really not much to see, in my experience. They really just step side-to-side and clap in time to the music.

I'm happy to see Austin Mom and your comments, headed there next week. Looking forward to it.
