A Valentine to DJC

I wanted to start 2017 by thanking one of the fastest-paying MSCs in the business. DJC either has the bestest clients that pay its MSC really fast or DJC realizes that paying us little guys is worth the investment. Over the years, DJC has been lauded on the forum for its excellent schedulers and its fast pay. It remains the gold standard for me. (I am still chasing payments for December shops from other guys ...) Love you Jeff and Nick!

Am I missing something here? I went on their job board and all of the United States was blank... I'm apparently signed up with them but have never completed a single shop. I guess I have never even seen one posted to pick up.

Nothing in US or Canada on job board. Do they email invites for jobs as only way to get or something?

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.

I agree -- love them and wish they had more shop opportunities. Reasonable surveys, nice scheduler, and speedy payment make them a top priority for me!
If any potential client companies are reading here, this is a company to think about. Reading the forum shows that there are some companies that don't get such a strong vote of confidence from shoppers as this small company gets!
They used to post shops on their job boards a while back but now they send emails about possible locations and the dates to shop since I did shops for them. They happened to be one of the nicest/professional companies around.
I wholeheartedly agree! Great people, fast pay - love the shops they have. I usually work with Jeff. I pick up every shop they offer me if at all possible - even if it is in a time frame I don't normally want to leave the house. Very very pleasant to work with. I can't say enough nice things about them.
I think the praise is a reflection on both the MSC and its client. There's a reason the owner is the second wealthiest female billionaire in the US without franchising but keeping the business her grandparents started family owned. They have a steller reputation in the business world and they are known for treating their employees right and setting high standards for the quality of their food.

My first time eating there was 1969 just down the road from the original stand. Nothing about the business has changed in all these years except the newer buildings have dining rooms. The menu, portion size, and quality are exactly the same and the prices remain reasonable despite skyrocketing popularity. The business truly represents the American dream.

And you see similar attributes in DJCs. There are a few other mom and pop places I shop where it takes everything I have not to suggest switching to DJCs.
I'd like to use DJC as an example and see if other MSC's follow. Why (I ask), does it take certain companies (you know who you are) forever to pay, over 6 weeks is not acceptable. I'd like to know why payroll doesn't pay within the end of the following month. Reports being finished a week and submitted, i get my review, so, please tell me what holds up payroll? DJC pays within days, The Trend pays the 5th and the 20th, others as quickly. Kudo's to those that care enough about their shoppers to pay within a month.

I'm not as concerned with the time it takes to pay as I am with companies who say they will pay in 6-8 weeks and it's 10 or more.

Sounds like a great MSC, wish they had shops in NE US.

One MSC that I do once or twice a year says upfront that it pays 60 days AFTER the client approves the report. That could be up to three months after filing the evaluation. Maybe the clients are deadbeats? I, too, wonder which is taking advantage of the IC? The MSC or is it the client?

DJC mentioned above has only the one burger job in my 30 mile radius. Their client is stellar and pays quickly.

There is one I did a shop for once (it is one of those listed via Gig Spot that promises to pay 60 days AFTER the client accepts the report. Seriously? It was a no-fee shop with reimbursement only. Why would anyone wait up to 90 days to get reimbursed for a taco or a burger? But the bigger question is how can an MSC disrespect its shoppers so much and stay in business? They can't exist on the one-time - never-again shoppers.

We are getting away from the purpose of this area of the forum. This area is supposed to be KUDOS, and the thread is a thread giving kudosspecifically to DJC. I'd like to see critical comments and any posts that do not relate to Kudos to DJC deleted. It seems disrespectful to muddy a DJC KUDO thread with criticisms of other companies. Another place and a new thread might be more appropriate.

BTW - The OP was submitted under Mystery Shopping Companies, not Kudos. You are correct. It started out as a love note to DJC's business operation.

Still on Sassie but assignments are made directly via schedulers.

The owner calls me directly and we schedule then. i never say no, pay in my account within 4 days with a thank you note.
