Since you posted on this forum rather than the shop opportunity board I feel compelled to respond. The statement “lunch or dinner on us” is particularly irksome to the professional mystery shoppers on this forum. We work hard to complete shops and provide detailed reports. The client pays the MSC for the fee, when provided, and the reimbursement for the shopper. In no way, shape or form is the meal on you. I find this to be disingenuous whenever I see this statement in a job posting or email.
Cut her some slack. She's probably new. Life expectancy is 3 months for this position.
Besides, if you had Oxnard and Palmdale in your area, you'd be crazy too. Poor thing.

Actually I live near Oxnard and shop there quite often. The competition is strong so need to get "crazy" about scheduling there. However, whenever I see an email about the food or drink being "on us" I gloss over it and cringe a bit. That approach just rubs me the wrong way. Just tell me what shops are available without the false and misleading enticement.
I agree with kenasch about shop descriptions.

Just give the shop facts. Don't tell me it's Fun or it's Simple or it's Quick and Easy unless it really is.
How about the invitation to shop for a “hot” pizza. That doesn’t mean anything to me.
But I notice how the OP mentions pizza shops OR high end restaurants! I'd like the high end one!
