Are you a Latino business owner in the construction trades that has grown your business?



Greetings:



I am Daniel Adelseck, a doctoral researcher working with Dr. Lori Wieters at Grand Canyon University. I can be contacted at 714-420-6772 or adelseck@gmail.com. The study gathers business growth stories from Latino construction owners in Southern California. I want to know more about the challenges, steps, and risks you took to grow your business. The stories of participants can add to research knowledge to improve Latino business success. Participants will be given $100.00 for participating in the interview. Please read below for details.



Can you participate?



· How do I know if I can be in this study?

o You can join in in this study if:



§ You are a Latino family business owner in the construction trades (This includes all construction trades including plumbing, electrical, masonry, landscaping, and other building or repair related construction fields)

§ You started your business and still own the business.

§ You have taken at least one of the following steps: gotten a license, made a tax payment, registered your business, incorporated, made payroll, purchased insurance, or completed bonding.

§ Have hired people to work with you.

o You cannot participate in this study if you no longer own the business.

· What am I being asked to do? If you agree to be in this study, you will be asked to:



o Join in a 90-minute interview with the researcher.

o Meet with the researcher in a comfortable place.

o Agree to a follow-up phone call if needed.



The data collected in this study will not be used in any way that could reveal the identity of the participant. Your participation in this study is voluntary. After completing the interview, you will receive $100.00.
