Hello,

We are currently seeking to employ individual's Country wide. How would you like to make money by simply driving your car advertising for JOHNNIE WALKER.

How it works

Here's the basic premise of the "paid to drive"

Concept: JOHNNIE WALKER seeks people -- regular citizens, professional drivers to go about their normal routine as they usually do, only with an advert for "JOHNNIE WALKER" plastered on your car. The ads are typically vinyl decals, also known as "auto wraps" that's almost seem to be painted on the vehicle and which will cover any portion of your car's exterior surface.

What does the company get out of this type of ad strategy? Lots of exposure and awareness. The auto wraps tend to be colorful, eye-catching and attract lots of attention. Plus, it's a form of advertising with a captive audience, meaning people who are stuck in traffic can't avoid seeing the wrapped car alongside them. This program will last for 3 months and the minimum you can participate is 1 month.

You will be compensated with $500 per week which is essentially a "Rental" payment for the use of space. No fee is required from you, "JOHNNIE WALKER" shall provide experts that would handle the Advert placing on your Car. I would do a search on "car decal ads" or some such to find the real thing. There are legitimate such companies that pay the car owner, but the last I saw were topping out at about $300 per month. It sure would make me much too memorable for hotel, apartment and new home shops!!! The email looks like aphishing expedition to me.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
There are legitimate companies that do this type advertising. I have a friend that wanted to do it, but was not accepted into the program because her area of daily travel was not broad enough. But she went through an agency. I would be leery of anything that used gmail or hotmail, etc as email addresses.
The fee does sound excessive. I used to see those and thought it would be worth it, but now walesmaven is right and it would be too memorable for most shops.

I received the same letter except it was for $400 weekly pay and the letter was sent from David Marks. Still waiting on their last reply which stated they were sending out the check to me this week with some other gifts. Hummm
Neldin,

This is the exact same message I received from David Marks on Feb 4th! I received a text message and an email today telling me that a check for $2250.00 would be delivered via UPS today and that I should cash it and deposit $400 in my bank and then send the balance of $1750 to the Agent below-

Receiver's Name : Angela Martin

State : OH
Zip Code : 43207
USA

As soon you complete the transfer at Money Gram, you should get back to me with details below-

Sender's Name
Sender's Address
Amount Sent
Money Gram Reference Number (8 Digit Control Number)

Once payment has been confirmed, the company will come to your residence for the decals and wrapping up of your car.

Reply Email to acknowledge content of this Email is well understood.

Best Regards.
So now the gist of the scam is revealed. I'm sure they want the wire transfer to occur quickly, like before the bank informs you the check is bad.

Jp99, if you are reporting a real scam, you can post a company's name. If you are discussing mystery shopping, you cannot post the company name and the client name in the same thread.

For example, if ZZZ Big Company has a shop for XXX Bar and Grill, you cannot mention ZZZ Big Company and XXX Bar and Grill in the same thread. It is OK to mention one or the other but not both in the same thread.

If someone else mentions ZZZ Big Company in a post early in the thread, and you come in later and post a comment that you shopped XXX Bar and Grill, that would not be allowed.

Hello,
I was contacted as well by email from this shameless scammer. It was in my 'spam' mail, but so are legit emails AND I belong to a website for ISLAY Scotch, so it looked 50% authentic to me. I did a goggle scam search for this "JOHNNIE WALKER PAID TO DRIVE"and it brought me here, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE KNOWLEDGEBLE INSIGHT. I ALMOST fell for this! WOW. OK, so..... I've been looking into mystery shopping (researching), for years! How does one get a clue? I was an elementary school teacher in another life smiling smiley, but would excel at this and NOT just because I love to shop. I'm an Novice investigator in my own time which is what I have a great deal of now. Lots of volunteering........................
I live in S Fl if that's any help!
Thank you!
I also have been contacted by David Marks about the Johnny Walker decal on my car. At first I was very interested to participate. Mr. Marks asked all the right question so I had to thought to believe the story. On Saturday I received a Farmers insurance check in the amount of $2958.67 telling me to deposit and to purchase a MonetPack from Walmart.
I contacted Farmers Bank verify the check, was told it is one of Farmers checks, still not happy with the answer I then contacted
Farmers main office. Where I was told Not to cash that check.
Thanks to everyone that posted about this scam.
My question is now: can I involve the Police in this?
The poor grammar in those types of e-mails always scream "Scam!" to me.

It's scam, and yes, I would involve the police by dropping off the check and a copy of the email you got. They may have a state task force that works cybercrime.

Screams scam to me. Checks being sent by courier is a way to avoid USPS federal laws on fraud through the mail.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
Given the nature of this "opportunity", I think that advertising Trojans on your car is more indickative of what you'll be getting in the end.
Yours2love, go to the New Shopper section of the forum and read all of the first few threads for some good information on getting started. You need to sign up on line with the shopping companies and then you will be able to look at their job boards and see what they have available. Welcome to the forum.

I also received an e-mail invitation to have my car wrapped. The check (from a large commercial bank )came to me and I was told to let the check clear FIRST then take my first weeks fee and send the rest to the wrap tech. This way I will get at least the first weeks fee for sure. I am going to give it a shot.
