Pinterest Scam Question

Hey everyone,

I've got a potentially random question, though I guess this is the "anything goes" board. I've started wandering in the realm of Pinterest, and have created a few boards, mostly for kicks and giggles. Over the last few days, I've noticed one particular "pin" on one particular board getting repinned like *crazy*--we're talking 20 times in the last two days. I've looked at the boards that it's been repinned to, and I get a sort of sick feeling that there is some sort of scam going on here. But, I for the life of me can't figure out what it would be. The image is of the pool deck on a cruise ship, and it's on a travel themed board. Nothing personal about me involved. Yet, there has got to be some reason that people are like flies on honey over this image. Any ideas?

Thanks for the help!

I like to get recipes from Pinterest and I have noticed a lot of the recipe pins I click on, never lead to an actual recipe. I think they are trying to route people to certain pages. Some sites get paid by advertisors if they click on their link(s). I too see these fake recipe links shared over and over. Maybe it is to drive people to certain sites to make money???
