Why no love for the Windows Phones?

I notice that a lot of mystery shopping companies and just companies in general refuse to create apps for Windows Phones. I long ago decided not to support Apple in any way, plus I really believe in Microsoft products. I love my Windows Phone, just wish I didn't get left out of the loop like to do "snapshops" or "Gigwalk."

Anybody else a Windows Phone or other Microsoft hardware lover?

I love my windows phone. I don't use a ton of apps, mostly just email, facebook, and twitter, and it does all of those very well and fast.

I think people prefer android because it has a lot of available applications as compared to windows phone. Another reason behind it maybe is marketing; windows phone fails in effective marketing. I like both windows and android phone both are reliable.

Actually, Windows Phones have a lot of apps. I don't know how much one needs but it has everything I need it to do. In fact, I got so app crazy that it cluttered up my screen and I ended up uninstalling the ones I really didn't need. I'm not sure how many apps people feel are necessary. To me that's like people getting cable because they can have 800 channels. Who has time or desire to watch all those?

I agree, CallaVandy, that when it comes to Microsoft hardware, they don't do effective marketing. They did do a good job with the Surface because those commercials and ads were EVERYWHERE! Another thing is that sometimes their software can be buggy, so they assume the hardware will be bad too. Finally, some people are such loyalist to Apple or Android that they will only get those no matter what the other options are.
Windows fell behind the curve in smartphone advertising and let Apple and Android get ahead of them.

As a Windows PC user I HATE IT and would never voluntarily buy a Windows phone.

Android and Apple both have tons more apps than Windows. Sure, you can probably find apps to meet all your needs, but you have more to choose from with Android and Apple.

And, from my limited experiece, the Windows mobile platform is clunky and try-hard.
It's a matter of personal taste. I've used all 3 and Windows is far and away easier, better, and faster, than the other 2. As for apps, it's like the people who get the $200 cable package because it has 450 channels, when they're really only watching the 30 or so that come in the $50 package, but "want the choice."

Of the three or four smartphone options out there, the only one I consider remotely palatable is Android. Both Apple and Microsoft have and continue to engage in dubious business practices and I consider the possibility of giving either one my money to be abhorrent.
DrSquash, do elaborate. I try to only shop with ethical companies. Just curious about your opinion.
