Android Galaxy S4 Users Please Help

I've had my phone for a few months now. I love it.

Now, I have a problem. My phone will start playing my music when I put it in my pocket or when I'm walking by it while it's on the table. It will play when I'm not touching it and that is freaky!

So, I put the music file into a folder in case I was accidentally opening the phone and rubbing against the icon.

Is there a setting on the phone where I can stop this nonsense?

The other day, while on a shop, I told the employee they were playing nice music here. Well? It wasn't their music. It was my phone playing Willie Nelson in my pocket. I found out when I had to check the restroom. I felt stupid, lol.

Thanks if you can help me out with this. smiling smiley

My S4's favorite tricks are making screen shots and changing my phone setting from noise to vibrate (so I don't hear when the phone rings).

Today I had a really odd experience. I was in my car and listening to an audio book. I texted my boss a response. Later I looked at the phone and saw an odd post and thought he had accidentally posted something to me about some guy that something was going to happen to and I was trying to text him back "I think you sent me something by accident" but I couldn't find the reply box and couldn't find a delete button to delete the mis-sent message. I finally realized what had happened. I had used the voice feature to text him and after I sent the message, it had kept translating my audio book into a text message. Really glad I hadn't accidentally sent that to *him* -- he would have thought I'd popped my cork for sure.

Anyway, I know none of this helps you particularly, but the S4 does seem to have a mind of its own and it drives me nuts. I think it has launched music once or twice, but not persistently. My biggest pet peeve is setting it back to the ringtone after I have had it on vibrate and it keeps turning itself back to vibrate. I had to turn the phone off and on again the other day before it would leave it on the ringtone.

There *is* a setting somewhere that makes it not necessary to actually touch the screen to launch things; you might want to check through your settings and look for that. Maybe that's why it starts playing when you walk past it.

I love my S4 but these things drive me nuts because I have missed a lot of calls because the phone didn't ring when it should have because the phone muted itself and I didn't feel it vibrate.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
Not a Samsung fan nor a user but I would suggest closing the music app if you are not using it. You can do this pressing and holding a home or main button the phone then by swiping it away from the list of active apps. You can always relaunch it when you are ready to listen to music. If you don't have one already, I suggest getting a thick case for it. I put one on my Nexus 4 and I never have this issue anymore

I close apps when I'm done. So, that's good.

My phone is behaving normally except for this music business.

Today, it did not play Willie. I think that putting the file into a folder might have solved the problem.

I don't have air swipe turned on.

I remember a few months ago, it was dialing my contacts, but that stopped shortly after and it hasn't done it again.

That story about your audio book and testing your boss is funny as hell you know. :O

Thanks!
I seriously need some help here. I am so tired of searching online.

This is what's happening.

I take one photo.
It uploads three photos on my computer.

1. regular size file
2. thumbnail
3. photo that has been resized to half

I checked all settings and I don't see anywhere how to fix this. It just started a week ago and I don't remember doing anything different to my phone.
I feel so lonely here. sad smiley

I haven't figured this out yet and I can't seem to get answer on the web.

Funny thing though..it shows as one photo on my phone and when I upload that photo, it turns into three photos, all different sizes.

It's not a big deal but I don't like it when things aren't working correctly. I'm assuming human error here but can't figure out what was changed.

Oh well. smiling smiley
I don't know anything about your phone but in settings you may be able to put it back to default which might fix a lot of that.
Can't help, but if it makes you feel any better, my iPhone does freaky stuff as well.

It stopped for awhile after I had hissies with Apple. And 2 hours later, everything was hunky dory. Since the new updates, I'm lucky if a call goes through.

Now I just do the tried and true. Turn it off for at least 10 seconds. Mine will quit it's squirrely things for a month.

I thought I solved my music playing all by itself, but nope. I deleted all the songs off my phone and that is that. Now, the recorder turns itself on.

I had a lot of updates this week and it's amazing how much stuff gets put on your phone without you realizing it. I went into my apps and deleted about 10 apps yesterday. Just nonsense. Some I couldn't uninstall. I had to disable them. I paid for my phone and I don't like Samsung or AT&T dumping their stuff on MY stuff. winking smiley

So, beside this, all is working great. I still love my phone. (it's my first you know. tongue sticking out smiley )
It's the government. The NSA owns the rights to all android phones and they are checking up on you. Have you noticed any black sedans with heavily tinted windows following you?
LOL!

It's not paranoid if they are actually after you. If the government doesn't get you, the aliens will.
