Car shoppers: Have you overheard these words?

Apparently there is quite a set of slang words used by dealerships that would be helpful to know if you are shopping either for real or for a shop. This website is from an Ohio lawyer who has collected them over the years while specializing in lemon law. A fun and interesting read. [www.ohiolemonlaw.com]

Rezteach, I read this a few days ago but got busy. I wanted to thank you for sending it. I had no idea.
Thank you Rezteach! perfect timing for me as I will be going used car shopping in a couple of weeks
You're welcome. I won't need this info for a few months, but I 'll be glad to know it is here for a view. I hate the car buying process. That's one reason I keep cars at least ten years One of the ones I have now is an '86 Taurus I bought used in '93.
Usually I buy something still under warranty.
Gesh . The list is at best 50% accurate.

Here is a big thing it is missing. Something even Consumer Reports makes clear. Just like any business, a car dealership (sales, service) only survives as a business if it is profitable. Non of us would have jobs if our company did not make a profit. We do not work for free. Furniture is marked up 300%, so at half off the store doubles their investment. Clothes are similar. Oh let's not forget operating costs by the way.

An informed buyer will usually find a car dealer that runs a fair business. A improperly informed buyer is never going to know what is or isn't fair.
