MA Smith - stay clear of Celeron processors and also Atom AMD Processors when shopping for a laptop. When you are checking for the specs of the laptop type into google Intel i3 verses Celeron or Intel i5 verses Celeron or what ever the processor is verses the celeron processor. If the Celeron is better then run away. You want something better then a Celeron processor. A Pentium 3 is better however the I3 processor is better than that. so in short celeron --> pentium -->I3 --> i5 --> I7.
Next - sigh - you want to make sure it is at minimum a dual core although a quad core is the best. Again you can type in quad core verses xyz into Google and find the info.
What's next? uhmmm battery life - There is now 6 hour and 8 hour batteries. The older the system the shorter the battery life.
If you get an older system, lets say a pentium 4 dual core, you could find replacement batteries that can give you better functionality while on the road.
oh I almost for got memory is upto you. I like 4 gig or 8 gig. I will deal with a 2 gig hard drive for the memory but then I always have plenty of spare flash drives to clean the memory and make things runs smooth.
If you have any questions, let me know!
