I ordered a toddy at a coffee shop, but got some weird looks.

Recently, I went to a local coffee shop in downtown Phoenix and saw "cold toddy" on the menu. I asked the barista what a toddy was and she promptly stated that it was another word for coffee. When I stated I wanted a hot toddy, I got received the most interesting looks from the baristas......

A hot toddy contains alcohol. (Rereading this, I think you it was meant to be funny, but I read it straight. Hard to tell in black and white. Sorry for killing your thread ;-)).

I opened this thread because I had no idea what a toddy was - hot or cold. After closing the thread, an ad for men's boxer briefs showed up on the top of the forum page. I think hot toddy just took on a whole new meaning!
Toddy is a cold brew system for coffee. It takes 12 hours to make the brew but since it is cold brew it does not release the acids from the coffee beans like hot brew and is easier on your stomach. I have one of those at home, it makes a coffee syrup that I add to water to make a coffee.
