Comcast VENT

We switched from Verizon to Comcast when we moved because the price was so much better. The HD quality was not good, but we could live with it. A few months later, I noticed PPV charge on our bill. Comcast removed the charge and walked me through putting a purchase PIN on the account. Then I noticed my bill was different by a few dollars every month. I called to inquire and they could not explain it. BUT they wanted me to sign up for automatic payments. Really?

6 months in, I'm scrutinizing my bill monthly. I see more PPV charges. I called and they reversed the charges. They told me to put a PIN on my account and my remote. I told them I had a purchase PIN. Come to find out, it disappeared. Internet research and I found that one of our boxes was hacked. I switched boxes and set up the PINS.

We were watching a movie and the TV cut off after an hour. Come to find out, it was due to the PIN on the remote. We had to remove the remote PIN when we watched TV and then reset it. Daily.

After the next hack, I called them to cancel. I told them I didn't care what the fee was, I wanted out. We switched back to Verizon. Verizon was nice enough to package the Comcast equipment in a big, red Verizon bag. And best of all, no issues! They are well worth the price.

Ugh... I haven't had the PIN/Hacking issues you've had (knock on wood). I need a fast internet connection, and I like the quality of my Comcast TV and internet, but the prices go up a few bucks every month for no reason. You call every 6 months or so to get them to knock it off, but it's highly annoying and I'm considering jumping ship and rolling the dice with another provider.

Shopper in California's Bay Area
My bill went from $14, $20 to $29 to $60 for horrible dsl same company just higher fees and slower service. I thought Bay Area had Google WiFi on their project to have free internet for all? Did Google give up to give free fast ISP?
Cali, we had Comcast for less than a year and had all those problems! I didn't know how big the hacking issue was until I researched it. I hope you never face it. Verizon is expensive, but I don't have to scrutinize my bill.

I didn't have any problems with Comcast internet, but I could only have one provider. I couldn't have Comcast internet with Verizon TV.

Google wifi would be awesome! Where we used to live, the city had free wifi, but it was slow and unreliable.

I thought he vent about Comcast $12 shops with 100 questions, not his cable bill.
Akbar, he's a she. I do the $12 Comcast shops, but they give no place for a consumer's opinion.
