Gya Kaya is a Japanese BBQ in my town....do it monthly and every now and then. Mondays are happy hour all day, and my favorites are less $. Love BBQ shrimp and steak, BBQing on the table, fun, good for a diet, and yummy!! (request for forum members to violate their ICAs and the forum rules has been deleted by Mod)]

Tip for my long lost friends.....Whole Foods has two killer beef tacos on "Taco Tuesday" for 3.00.

They are opening a cheesecake factory in my town too( wonder if we're in the same town?). That Japanese BBQ place is shopped, I was offered a shop last week. Had to enter after 7pm.
Where do you live...I know it's shopped by two different msc's...one is for one person, the other for two.
My town starts with a V in the subs of L.A.

Now your reading my mind and deciding what I will be talking about, could be the growth and changes in "OUR" community. I find your following me a bit scary, I don't care what you do off the forum.

Isn't that a big old stretch? It is so common for members to meet for coffee or lunch whether they live in the same town or are traveling. I've met with local shoppers and had route shoppers to my home for dinner. One even stayed here for several days. None of it was a ploy to break forum rules.

sounds like poster will try to get forum member to break forum rules in person over lunch from reading mod notes. not cool.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
You go to the MSPA convention to learn new things, and (hopefully) get news about companies. I learned so much from our great member Steve when lunching with him years ago, and so happy to have met him. Msig being a singular work, nice to meet another and share. Thx Lisa for standing up for me, and being on the same page with your fellow shoppers, inviting one over, now, that would be nice.

Some local Chinese restaurants.
Some local Mexican restaurants.
Qdoba.
Chipotle.
Snooze.

Other than Qdoba, I frequent all of these on my own dime. I eat out pretty often though and also enjoy Korean, Japanese, Mongolian bbq, Brazilian, gourmet burgers, and whatever is highly rated on Yelp near me. Oh I love, love local ice cream.

It's very nice to see everyone getting along.

We dine at a local Asian restaurant, the Golden Dragon, and my husband has become good friends with the owners (they have been playing poker about 4-6 times a year for the past 8 years or so). The sushi is outstanding and the portions are large. They grow some of the produce that they use in some of their other dishes, as they offer Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese, and Cambodian menu items in addition to sushi. There is another restaurant that is on a lake nearby which is really cool. It's called the Upper Deck. They have bands and outside dining, overlooking the lake, and the food has come a long way over the past 10 years. I had some amazing stuffed Hungarian peppers yesterday while basking in the last vestiges of warmth and sunshine for the year here in NE Ohio, listening to classic rock (it's a biker friendly type place and the music is pretty great). They also offered a grilled beef tenderloin sandwich with horsey sauce and a side for less than $10 (I got their hand-dipped onion rings). Went so well with the bucket of cold bottled beer...

I pretty much am anti-chain restaurant. Can't think of one I will spend my own money on.
nothing wrong with meeting up with people ... its fun! hopefully i will be able to meet up with cettie and nybuffalo101 again... we talked for an hour and it was a very good time

you wouldnt have this general forum if there was nothing else to talk about besides breaking the rules...

my car is dead so i can no longer do my favorite chinese buffets... but it has been taken over by the little ceasers that i pass by most days on my way to my cleaning job... $5.89 to be stuffed with pizza is not a bad deal... and taco bell too... wendys... they are close by... *burp*

psh... its more fun when forum members dont get along... spice...mmm... and then i stir the pot... and watch... or just watch and laugh

Not enough work to be involved in our own debates, human interest sport spectator and/or an instigator.
Like the laughing hyena who waits until the Lion has made the kill and then, having tucked his tail under his behind, goes in for a bite of the already wounded. Guess that's what our forum names really mean.
oh i find plenty and i dont call it work

Nice to know they're proud of such a feat. The world we live in is far more full of those creatures, be proud!
I rarely find it amusing. A wise person once wrote (can't remember who it was and this is probably not a precise quote): "Be kinder than necessary. Everyone you meet is fighting some sort of personal battle." This world is sad and cruel enough without taking pleasure in other peoples sadness and/or unhappiness.
I love Fogo de Chao, also Rodizio Grill, tuscanos Brazilian Grill, and Texas de Brazil, which are the same kind of restaurant.
I continue to spend far too much of my budget on our local Mexican restaurant. Years ago, we used to eat the The Dive and John Bull at least weekly. I don't remember what the real name of The Dive was - some literal hole in the wall Mexican restaurant with 12' of street frontage near the South Pasadena Mall. Best food, ever.

Now scheduling travel shops for the day after Christmas through mid-January.
I was taken recently to Chinois on Main (Wolfgang Puck's restaurant). Asian Fusion and excellent, very individual interesting flavors.., he is Wolfgang Puck. I would pay, but, too expensive for my blood.
Years ago in San Francisco's Chinatown, "Sam Woo's: was fun. They brought the special of the day up stairs in a dumb waiter, and never disappointed. I really prefer non chains, but here where I live everything is a chain, not so much in the city. I have eaten at Cheeescake since their birth in Calabasas, and recently ate there on my own for lunch. I felt the salad portion is much smaller and the price went up from 10.00 to 13.00 for the salad. I would work for them, but not going on my own.
